Hey fellas,after yesterdays interest,I thought I'd pass along some more interesting info on this nifty little multi-purpose compound.The following is an excerpt taken from a column titled"Bodybuilding Pharmacology"in the May 2000 edition of Ironman magazine,ENJOY.ORAL STEROIDS:EFFECTS ON PROTEIN METABOLISM-While testosterone injections remain the cornerstone of androgen medical therapy,recent studies have focused on the effects of oral anabolics.A popular anabolic in that category is oxandrolone,formerly sold under the trade name Anavar but currently available as Oxandrin.A group of scientists recently gave injections of testosterone enanthate to healthy young men and found that the drug increased net protein synthesis(duh)and reuse of amino acids in muscle.The researchers decided to see if oxandrolone offered similar effects as an oral drug.They gave 15mgs of the drug for five days to healthy young men.They tested muscle protein synthesis and breakdown rates using sophisticated testing procedures and found that muscle protein synthesis rates increased by 44 percent after the subjects used oxandrolone,with zero affect on muscle protein breakdown.In other words,they found an anabolic effect(duh)Muscle protein synthesis increased while muscle protein breakdown didn't.The researchers also found an increase in muscle cell androgenic receptors promoted by oxandrolone.In edition,comparing the effects of testosterone in their previous study with oxandrolone in the newer study showed that oxandrolone exerts a greater anabolic effect on skeletal muscle than testosterone injections.(I'm assuming they're talking about a mg to mg basis here)Another signifigant finding was that oxandrolone prevented the exit of amino acids from muscle cells that normally occurs after an overnight fast.That would be a potent anti-catabolic effect of the drug:helping to maintain muscle cell content of amino acids.When amino acids leave the muscle,catabolic effects dominate.Using oxandrolone led led to a 65 percent increased rate of protein synthesis under fasting conditions.....Gentlemen/ladies,if you can get your hands on this marvelous compound,it should be a regular part of your stacking array,especially when inducing lypolisis for pre-contest preperations.Hope you guys enjoy this interesting little tidbit as much as I did.    | ||

Good shit...Anavar, in the International Journal of Obesity(1995; 614-624) was shown to promote strength and hardness, and a significant reduction in fat...in both the abdominal and visceral stores...... Good shit....haven't see legit Anavar in a good while.... | ||

....um...wouldn't it be cool if I had some of that? It certainly would. Dreams. Yep. And as for the liver, this drug is not hepatotoxic in the strict sense of the word. This is gonna get some arguments I realize. Research will reveal that this compound actually might improve certain liver functions. I'll leave it to the local brainiacs to dig up the proper references. If things get too out of hand I might be able to find the studies and post them for y'all. I had this vision...call it a premonition...that it would be revealed to me where to get this incredible drug. In my dream, the info just showed up in my email, along with info on Zambon. Weird, huh? | ||

Why is anavar so god damned expensive compared to other AS???? It is the least damaging to the body..and gives solid gains..where shit like abombs blow you up then fuck you up... I just don't get it... What is the compound that makes it so expensive??? I can't wait for papervar...

Aaaah,have I converted some of you gentlemen over to being oxandrolone enthusiasts?It appears I have.And Fukkenshredded brings up another great point about this awesome drug.Even though it is 17AA,for some odd reason,it exhibits next to NO liver toxicity even when using mammoth dosages. | ||

Most of what they found can be said of most AAS (e.g. increased protein syntheis, increased nitrogen retention, increased re-use of amino acids). The anti-catabolic properties of AAS has been debated. It seems this study indicates anti-catabolic properties of oxandrolone...hmmm, maybe pop a couple before bed. The part I find most intriguing is the report of an increase in muscle cell androgen receptors. If it really can do that, it would be valuable to add to almost any stack. | ||
