To everyone, maybe you can help me with my situation. Im 6' 195 about 8% bodyfat and have hit a palteau. Currently I press 315 for 3 reps, incline dumbell presses with 100's for 12 reps. squats 350 for 12, dumbell bi curls 65's for 12 and dumbell presses with the 80's for 12. I have no intention on competing and I dont train because of a lack of self esteem. I train for me. Right now I look great, feel great but this wall I've hit is starting to eat away at my mental focus. My wife and I just had a baby girl so of course my schedule has changed but I am determined to max myself out with out using the sauce. I have had countless opportunities to use it but never have. I know deep down that I will peak at some point but until then I need suggestions to reach my ultimate pumptential. thanks guys

Are you saying that you're too old to do AAS? I'm 30 with a wife a 2 year old and 1 on the way. If you're educated on the subject, it can only make you better.

Hey Bro, you didn't really spell out your training program. And since I can't watch you lift, I can't help with technique BUT, if you go here http://www.drsquat.com/articles.htm, I am sure you will find the some of the answers to your questions about how to break down those barriers.

Up the calories and protein and switch your training around. If you keep doing say flat bench, incline bench and incline dumbbells for chest it will stop growing. You have to trick the muscles into growing. Once they get used to something it is much harder to get them to grow off of the same exercises. Mix up your training routine every other week.

yeah where are you calories at currently? maybe to break through you should bulk get your bodywieght (bf% will inevitably have to raise also) up. If it is a true plateau , you won't break through without some help.

Many people that have families use without problems. If its a money thing that is understandable, but if its a guilt thing (you know.. AS is baaad) I might reconsider my opinion on gear. Not trying to press the issue just help you out.

so where are you calories at now?

I'll answer the last two replies in one post. For breakfast 1 methyoxy pro shake 25G protien, by the way this stuff sucks so I will replace it with something else.
Lunch- Wheat bagel with turkey lettuce tomatoe and bean sprouts, yogurt and apple
Dinner-Fish or steak with veggies and potatoes.
For a late night snack, frosted flakes baby.

As far as me not going ALL THE WAY with my supplementation. 1. Im scared shit
2. I now wether or not I have maxed out all I can Naturally

Punch, two things: First if your stats are right, you are doing good considering the inadequate nutrition habit you are following.
Second, you are going to HAVE to increase the amount of protein, TRIPLE it and eat more frequently. Forget those frosted flakes, and take a pure protein drink or meal at the time.

On training I would advise you to try this for 7 weeks, do the same exercises you are currently doing, but do them with very high reps. 15-25 reps for the same number of sets. Don't go under 15. Then after those seven weeks take a week off, be lazy and then come back and hit the heavy iron with the basics bench, squat, deadlifts, chins, presses, - heavy compound movements. reps about 5-6 range, nothing EVER over 10. With #10 being your death bed rep.

But you are going to have to HAVE to eat more. That is #1.

I have seen this work for many people, whether they are juicing or not, but you must

Jae is right on the calories, they are very low buddy. If you dont have the time (I think you can for sure fit in 4 real food meals though) get some weight gain or mrp's and mix a thick one twice a day. They are easy and quick to slurp down, although not as good as 'real food' calories it will help you out immensly. Dont expect to put on weight and keep yourself at 8%.

I gotta agree with the other guys on the calories. From what I read you're only consuming 2 solid food meals a day (frosted flakes don't count). You need much much more. This may be a gradual thing as your stomach may not hold double or triple straight away. I'd add a meal every couple of weeks until you get up to 6-7 a day, then you'll definately see some gains with or without gear.

The other thing that concerns me is 'home gym'. When I first started training I had a full set up at home. As soon as I discovered a hardcore gym, I sold the lot. Training at home can limit you (emphasis on CAN). If you have no other option just make sure when you do train you have absolutely no distractions, which would be hard with a new born baby in the house. You are gonna have to talk to your partner about this and make sure you set aside certain times to train with no distractions at all.

Real gyms can offer you so much more though such as a greater variety of exercises and motivation from other bros there.

Try eating everything in sight don't worry about b/f % you can always cut back down and stop with all the reps, pick a heavier weight you can barely get four and no more than six. Try this for about eight weeks if possible work only one body part per week.

And research AAS i think a good cycle of sust., d-bol and eq. is just what you need. I understand wanting to keep it natural for the family but involve your wife with the research so she can be educated on your decision, some would choose not to do this but honesty is the best policy, oh yeah supp. are just a waste of good money bro! Good Luck and i hope this might help a little.

I WOULD SUGGEST YOU LOWERE YOUR REPS ALSO TO AROUND 6-8. AND I WOULD CONCENTRATE ON CONSUMING 2 GRAMS PER POUND OF BODY WEIGHT IN PROTIEN. EAT PLENTY OF CARBS, WHICH WILL ALSO HELP UP YOUR CALORIES, TRY AROUND 60 PER MEAL, AND MAYBE LESS BEFORE YOU GO TO SLEEP. I WOULDN'T WORRY MUCH ABOUT THE FAT, JUST DON'T OVER DO IT.

Realistically, can I expect to lift a lot more weight naturally. What supplements exist that can help the cause without goin to the sauce. By the way I just threw away $300 worth of andro products. I tried the cream, under the tongue all that shit. It blows. For now Im sticking with good protien, vitamins and minerals. I have some good friends who bodybuild one of which got fucking enormous on the sauce. I gotta tell you guys, its some tempting shit. I have trained with guys who couldnt lift for shit and within two years they were doing my maxes for warmups.

Hey Bro, the best and simplest thing to do is train heavy and eat big. Try shopping at a Gordon Food Service or Sam's Club. Get yourself some of those big bags of chicken breasts and the 2 1/2 dozen eggs cartons and go to town with them. Try to get in at least 6 quality meals a day and work your way up. 1.5 to 2 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight will do the trick.

I dont think youll find anythign that will help you too much, the ol creatine helps that andro shit is bullshit. Youll get a pair of tits and no real growth.

time to step to the plate and get yourself a good stack, AFTER you up your calories. I have a feeling if you get 4,000 Quality calories a day, you will have AMAZING results keep them up there every day for a while.

any more comments on the workout outlined above. Am I wasting my time with so many reps. My goal by next year this time:

1. squat 415 for 10 rps
2. benchpress 315 for 10
3. dumbell shoulder press 100 for 10rps
4. wieghted pullups 2 45's for 20 reps
5. dumbell bicep curls 75 for 12rps
6. skull crushers 200 for 10rps

am I dreaming or is this possible

Punch,
If you're willing to try all the andro crap, hmb, etc then why aren't you willing to try AS? Because it's illegal? What if some members of congress have their way and then andro becomes illegal. I know you don't use it now, but you have. Because you want to stay 'natural'. There's not much natural about hmb or creatine. It's not natural to eat a kilo of steak to get the equivalent of 5mg of creatine.

I guess you need to define you're goals and then map a plan to achieve those goals. If you need to supplement your training and dieting to get there then that's something you need to decide on your own.

Like the others have said, increase the calories and go to a lower rep/higher weight workout. You might also want to vary your workouts a bit, ie never do the same workout 2 times in a row. For example, for chest day try doing flat bench, incline DB, flat flyes one week, then go to incline bench, flat DB, incline fly the next week, then the next week mix and match from the last 2 weeks, etc. There are enough exercises for each body part that you should be able to put together good routines without repeating the same workout consecutively. This will keep the affected muscle off-guard and shock them into growing with each workout.

what if any is the safest sauce in the kitchen. The one thing I've always been curious about is if you take anabolics how could anybody stop once you start seing results. If your not bodybuilding for a living how do you know when its too much. I dont mean to get into philosophy here. How did you all feel when you started really packing the muscle on and getting compliments left and right. Im not talking about people saying you look great but people saying holly shit your fucking huge, having a lady say I really want to touch your body and saying to her I dont blame you.

Learn all you can about AAS and your fear will go away.Since forever, man fear the unknown. This board is a great souce of information, people here are really trying to help and are VERY respectful about your beliefs."I may disagree with you, but I will fight to death for your right to speak".
I had my share of fear,my share of wasted money, and all I can say is I do not fear AAS because I use them, they don't use me.You will surprise yourself with how much you will learn about your metabolism and endocrinous system while you are researching,
and then ,if you decide to, while you are using it.Please don't base your decisions on fear...Just educate yourself.
Best wishes,

Bro drop all those reps 4-6 is where i stay and i have made tremendous gains and packed on alot of size without the AS, up to 5'11 210lbs., probably 15% b/f which i personally don't think is alot but hell i have already been to the beach and am setting in for a winter season of mass muscle packing frenzy! Only one cycle under my belt and it was just simple Test. Enanthate 400mgs/2cc every seven days for just five weeks, help me blow through some plateus i was stuck on and added a good 7-10lbs of quality muscle. Do your research and for the 300.00 bucks you spent well lets just say damn you could have broke through and put on probably 10-20lbs of muscle maybe even more considering you diet and the type of AS and post AS drugs you used! DO THE RESEARCH FIRST!

The one good aspect of doing the high reps is building stamina. Next week I will go back to my 6-8 rep regimen and see if I gained any strength. The one thing I have to say to all the pro bodybuilders especially is keep the dream alive. All aspiring bodybuilders need real life input from you guys! Not the bullshit in the magazines. I have spoken to some semi pro guys who I wanted to bitch slap because of uneccessary arrogance but I have spoken with plenty of great bodybuilders who loved sharing their life experiences. to all of you God Bless.
