I heard from a friend that finajet was discontinued becasue it was making cows crazy. Has anyone heard why? Mad cows diesease. Later     | ||

I'll take a somewhat stab at this....it was proven in rats that it caused or was an initiator of cancer.....I think... | ||

Mad cow disease is caused by prion proteins. Basically these prions are mutated proteins that work in a "time bomb" fashion. Once you injest a prion similiar to Mad cow, there is a chance that many years later, you will suddenly suffer the symptoms. Many scientists today fear that millions may have eaten these prions and there could be a disasterous epidemic in the future. Prions and their mechanisms are at the forefront of much research...not much is currently known. |
