Guys, can any of you find out who or where somebody is by their e-mail addy? I don't have their IP, is there amy way you can find their IP by using their e-mail? Its a hotmail addy, is it possible to trace those? thanks    | ||

bump, I would like to know myself. I am getting mail from a hotmail that I can not stand, I block the addy from my account and I think the pest just changes his name. How can I check to who is it registered to? Help...  | ||

The reason roid dealers use hotmail addys is because they cannot be traced haphazardly. You would need access to there access logs and other unavailable info... Puc ------------------ | ||

NO you can't get an IP from Hotmail. That's why they use it. | ||

I checked the properties box in my email and it shows me some IP addys from the pest, he uses a hotmail addy. Surely there would be some way to trace this. | ||

it depends what isp they hit out on, yes u can trace hotmail down, haha, ive done it many times it does not work all the time because with lets say AOL,,, u get shot to some main aol router, but i traced my ex wife to the town she ran off to and found her cause she hotmailed me for example
hotmail is not safe for anyone to use, i can not stress that enough, use hushmail, go through web sites which make you a true annoymous internet surfer, then go to hushmail or hotmail | ||

by the way, I love my Z28. o and check the hotmail properties section, in there you will see some option to show you all the HEADER info of the email check it and look at the email again, and u will see all the info about the email [This message has been edited by Dread Lord Good Guy (edited October 04, 2000).] | ||

Go to hotmail Click tab at top called OPTIONS You will see ADDITIONAL OPTIONS on the right side Scroll down to Message Headers When you look at emails now, the info you see at the top is what you use to trace. | ||

This simply tells you the location of the ISP used to connect to the internet., a far cry from tracing right to the location of the computer. Anyone truly sly uses public access internet connections or goes through an anonymous proxy server, right dread? | ||

yes it does point to the computer normally, but its not as simple as saying, o i trace u and know ur address once u get a good idea of where the ip leads then you use other information in order to flesh out where the target lives

Only a novice would use their own IP to access and send a confidential Hotmail. You can use a Hotmail booth or the library for that matter to access and send your mail. Like DLGG says it is best to be on a large dial up like AOL, AT&T, etc and then the IP is assigned dynamically when you dial in. IOW it changes every time you dial up. | ||

Get a shell account. Learn how to telnet where ever you would like to go be it someones computer or elsewhere. Using the telnet feature you can easily trace the persons e-mail or ip. Just getting you pointed in the right direction. ~Goku~ | ||

Im not familiar with any anon surfers that allow you to use passwords/usernames enter info into a website... as I recall they dont work with java applets. Still true? Slopain | ||
