A bro at my gym has gotten his hands on these little viles of ATP from "someplace", and is claiming that it giving him the best pre-workout pumps. I want to tell him that this method of delivery is complete bullshit and that ATP cannot be added to to the body this way....but I'm not positive that this is true. If it is true wouldn't the extra ATP inhibit Glycolysis, and thus reduce your natural ATP outflow? Help strengthen my argument if you know any additional info.     | ||

I'm pretty sure thay a high-energy molecule like adenosine tri-phosphate wouldn't survive the GI tract to be absorbed. Hell, it wouldn't even survive storage long. Would be interesting to learn the composition of the stuff though...Peace! ------------------ | ||

I have no clue how this could be pure ATP There would have to be a method of release for it not be be digested very quickly, and what if or any kind of transport for it?..did he say..or is it just supposed to be pure ATP? Ya, I agree with these monkeys, orally administered ATP wouldn't be possible unless were talking about some interesting new carrier or something which will inhibit enzmatic breakdown within the GI tract. However, how many of you knew about injectable ATP. Got this from a recent edition of the Anabolic Journal. "The cessation of anabolic steroids initiates several catabolic processes within the body. One of these is the ATP-Ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. Increased extra cellular ATP has demonstrated the ability to put breaks on this process by decreasing metabolic acidosis and increasing protein synthesis' Duh, continuing to the good stuff. "The favorite version of this product is called "Tridenosen", from Australia. A phenomenal product that really makes a difference, its intended use is for racehorses and grey hounds. That's what I figured, the product is actually orally administered. I took a closer look at the vial, it is made by a company called Sigma and is derived from equine muscle. It also says minimum 99% crystalline microrefined in suspension. Most Sigma products are made for research purposes and it is probably used for experiments dealing with bacterial growth, etc. Interesting, but to sum things up, he's still wasting his cash. | ||

It is intended to be taken sub-ligual (spelling) which means under the tounge. The idea is that it will be absorbed through the mucosal membrane of the mouth directly into the bloodstream. I bought one bottle and it seams to help a little with work-out endurance but for 30 + bucks a pop I think I will skip it next time. |
