I'm naturally an endomorph fellas so cardio isn't my favorite thing. I'm not fat, but I have a feeling I'm gonna have to fight to see these abs. Now for the past two days I've been doing 20 minutes of cardio 2 times per day. I have only slightly adjusted my caloric intake, and I feel hungry all the time now, my food actually digests quicker, or so it seems. I'm assuming that this is a sign that my metabolism has sped up. My question is; does it matter what form of cardio I do? I stick with the bikes so I can read for school while I do my cardio. Obviously other forms of cardio burn more cals during the actual doing of the cardio. But my theory is that a couple of hundred of cals is not a big deal and that the stimulation of metabolism is the same overall. Anyone know? ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Personally i think it does matter what cardio you do. So forms of cardio burns more Cal. than others. And also its good to change your type of cardio. Example, dont' just do bike all the time, change it up, go for a jog, swim,ect... I feel that if you end up doing the same thing over and over your body adjust to it. Just like working out with weights, you have to change from time to time. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hmmm. Cardio improves biological efficiency. I doubt that cardio is better for fat loss than lifting and diet. It will make you live longer though. Are you on cycle? If so, be aware that heart muscle can respond to the increased anabolic effects of AS, making your heart muscle grow. An enlarged heart is a bad thing. Peace! ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

You will get alot of good feedback on this issue. We both have similar somatotypes. I possess endomorphic characteristics aswell. What I can tell you is that cardiovascular activity is a great asset to the dieting bodybuilder. However when taken to extremes with respect to volume, it ceases to be benefitial and becomes catabolic. Let me explain, the body can use a various fuel sources, glucose, fat, and protein! The goal is to stimulate the body into using fat stores as its primary source of fuel. As a dieting bodybuilder keep two criteria in mind. First, cardio is most efficient when the body is deprived of stores of glycogen. When we first wake after hours of sleep, the body is in a state of insulin shock, deprived of needed intramuscular glucose, our body will seek to use bodyfat as its source of energy! A. Thus, do your cardio in the morning on an empty stomach. Im sure you knew this, just want to further illustrate the importance. B. The rate and volume of cardio is also important. Let's draw on two distinctive sports as an analogy. Take long distance runners. Were dealing with prolonged cardio vascular activity under greatly aggrivated circumstances. Notice their partiuclar uniform builds? There isn't an impressive specimen amongst them. Why, because their passion for running, not only requires sufficient sources of fuel from glycogen and fat, but protein as well in the form of muscle tissue. This is a highly catabolic state in which muscle is being used to fuel the body!! We dont wanna do that. Now, possible one of the finest developed athletes are sprinters! Short explosive, cardio vascular activity such as there, is intense no doubt. Yet, its duration is never such that muscle is being used to fuel their training. Obviously, you may not be willing to strap a weighted sled to your waiste and do 30 yard sprints. So your mission, get on the tredmill, jack up the elevation all the way. Walk, dont run. You want to increase your heart rate for 30-45 minutes at most nothing more. If your so taxed on the tredmill that you can't conduct a conversation with the person next to you, your entering that undesired stated. Avoid this condition.

If your fat burning has stalled, you should try windsprints or intervals. You can perform them with almost any equipment (stairmaster, bike, treadmill, etc.) They seem to work well for most. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
