Is there any proof that somoking cigarettes limits the amount of muscle growth? Does the tobacco limit size by any chance? I know it suppresses appetite, but will it limit me in any other way?

I will only say this...if you smoke, you will die sooner than if you don't/didn't...knowing that, how in 'my' name can you put those things into your mouth and inhale??? If you are reading this board and into training/bodybuilding, or whatever, you seem like a hypocrite (or just plain dumb) to me! This isn't necessarily a "flame," I'm just curious as to your reasoning for needing to know the answer to that question...my 2 cents!! ------------------

I know it also depletes vitC, plus the major drawback is shortness of breath. You'd definately get those extra couple of reps on squats without the cigs, which in turn would make you grow more. Anyone else?

yes, smoking deprives your muscles of oxygen. you will never get as big, or as hard as if you didnt smoke. nicotine is not good either way, but 9if you have to do it, chew or dip. that is what i do. since i stopped smoking i have had much better gains in the last two yrs. cigarrets also supress your apitite. late,

I used to smoke a while back, I quit and bro, there was a huge difference in my workouts. Pumps, endurance, just overall. or was that the test.....nevermind. really try and stop for a day or 2 and you'll be able to tell. appetite will go up so that will help with eating more...

Smoking causes athersclerosis, making your arteries less able to carry blood to working muscles. To make a long story short, yes. Peace! ------------------

The nicotine in smokes is actually beneficial to your body. Dutch already said it increases GH release, but it also inhibits estrogen and increases neurotransmitter functions within the brain. The only drawback is that it depletes vitamin E and C, which you can easily control by supplementing more to your diet. However, smoking is very toxic to your body and will slow down your muscle growth by decreasing the amount of oxygen you can pull into your body at a given time. So, if you want the benefits of nicotine just get the patch. LATER

not sure on the smoking and whether it inhibits muscle growth but I did read somewhere that dip can decrease strength as much as 19%.Whether there is a correlation between the 2 is unknown but thought I would pass that on. Not sure of the validity to that because I havent been able to quit. Hey Beef good to know there is a fellow dipper on board!
