Curious II, I think that is the idea. The EF Select board should NOT be a place for someone who does not care enough about bodybuilding to invest $39 bucks. I guess I'll stay here and coach the newbies a little! Heh heh! I would like to join but right now I don't have an extra $5 to spend, let alone $40. And Diana ball: I don't know what you have spent at elite but I have spent well over $300 including $250 for a consultation a year ago. I have paid my dues in full to support this board. I care just as much as most of the bros on here. Hell ask anyone who gets their post # up the fastest and they will say Mav. But all the care in the world ain't gonna put an extra $40 in my pocket right now. I liked the idea of a private board but I thought it was not going to cost very much if anything. It will keep most of the stupid newbie questions off the board. People will definately read the newbie rules if they have to pay 40$. The only down fall is that I scrape all my extra cash for gear. I know enough to not need to spend an extra 40$ every 6 months to chat about it. I might get the first year...but I don't know after that. First and foremost, it is great to see this board be so responsive to the needs of its long time members and contributors. As a "newbie" who tries to learn as much as possible without posting senseless questions (ones that are not well thought out or have been answered 10x before on previous posts) I would hate to see others like myself lose the opportunity to observe the dialogue that goes on now. If all the experienced guys go somewhere else, where do we go for info. The more experiences and points of view there are to draw from the better. Why split this board in two, because that is exactly what will happen. Finally, and on the flip side, what makes anyone think that a "newbie" having $40 to spare is any more sensible than one who does not. I have been on other pay boards before, and there we plenty of dumb questions, source posts, etc there too. Just some thoughts. I hope they are taken in a constructive manner. | ||

The intentions behind the board are good but for us canadians the price is about $60. I can barely afford $40 canadian let alone $60. so I guess I'm staying here (not like anyone would miss me) the exchange rate is why I can't order mass quantities products either. Newbies who are looking for sources are probably going to find that board more attractive - ie - well if I pay this $40 ill be able to talk with the big boys and find a great source!! Hmmm. Don't mean to be a party-pooper but this idea seems based on extra cash than exta knowledge. I, like many others here, am in full time higher education. It's as much as I can afford to buy my gym fees, food and books. I'm doing my first cycle in three years. I've been in bodybuilding for 10 years and I've been on and off this board for 4 years (due to the fact I could'nt afford to run a computer). Not withstanding, what I study is very relevant to fitness, bodybuilding and particually A/S's. Having said that I think I'll be staying here for a while... It just seems an odd criteria, having $40 to spend does not make you a proficient bb'r are a authority on A/S's. Look at the amount of newbie's that get scammed for amount's far in excess. I think maybe some people are confused.. Where did it say anywhere that you could pick up a source on the select board? Thats not the intent of the board. The fee, although a little high, WILL keep those that aren't serious out, AND if soemone gets in and starts fuckin around, their banned from the board..if they want to try again pop your dollars into Georges pocket and try again, it would get real expensive to someone who wanted to be obnoxious. I sure understand that it will increase revenues and I think you deserve (I work myself in the web business) but it will not stop stupid people subscribing to this board ! What the $40 eliminates is all these fuck heads that re-register when they get kicked off and post stupid shit time after time. Or open post over and over again. They wont pay $40 just to re-register just to tell someone to fuck off or to drop a pricelist for a few minutes. I think it's a great idea for crowd control but nothing more. I think it's a great idea except the fee seems a bit high. I think it should be a smaller fee and by invite. Or vets get in for free and newbies get charged. Who know. LAter, JBA | ||

Yep invite only would be nice. I think the board would be alot better if members were chosen based on past experience and responses. Then the mods should vote on who gets in. I have come to accept and tolerate the occasional stupidity on this board. We all do dumb things sometimes and I sure hope I am not being judged for every little dumb thing I ever did because then I would be screwed. TS and others, you asked for it and you can have it. I don't know if I would join even if I had the $40 to spend. It may keep out source posters but the newbies and silly questions will still be there. Maybe not as much but you will still get them. Thanks for the insight Herman...we'll take that into consideration. Well..I chucked up my 40$ and I must say that I am glad I did. A year without the bullshit that I see here day in and day out will be very nice. The atmosphere there is great. Good questions so far..and great responses. No newbies treating you like newbies because they haven't been here long enough to know the board was hacked. No stupid responses. No painfully redundant questions. It's great...think about it bro's. 3$ a month when you figure it. If you don't want to continue after one year..you don't have to. I figured it was worth a shot.
