A month or two ago, someone posted a very informative post about getting a blood screen done, what parameters to look for, what they mean, what shows up particular to steroid use, etc. etc. I have searched everywhere for this post and can't find it. Does anyone have the type of information I'm looking for?

Hey just to let u know it is always a good ida to get blood work before and after a cycle(after about two months of washing out). As for lab values their are standards for different tests but each lab has different guidlelines of what is the range(its vary slightly from lab to lab) So I would suggest that u get a Full Workup including CBC(covers most of what u be looking for),Thyroid levels, Liver enzymes, and maybe a Hepatitis screening,it never hurts and if u doing this u might as well do it right. Then see yor doc and go over it and dont just let him TELL U it is ok--Make him sit there and EXPLAIN everything and try to comprehend it. It might seem forein but so was gear when u first hear about and anyway he is fucking getting paid for it, and yes we all know most docs are busy, but its YOUR BODY, not his. Hope it helped a little MEDIC [This message has been edited by MEDIC (edited October 01, 2000).]

Any idea how much a full workup bloodscreen with cbc costs? i took a bloodtest about 6 months back & was charged about $500.00. my doctor said that blood screen's typically cost $700.00, but that he was giving me a discount. but after i found out how much he was gauging me on GH, i'm beginning to wonder how much he was overcharging me on everything else. ------------------

I am no medical pro but the following might be helpful (BTW - Medics right-on re: labs, ranges, standards, phys. results review, etc.). In general you are seeking the following: CBC/Differential To respond to your question(s) in detail would take way too long (for me). My suggestion, have your physician perform the above at a minimum, then review the results with you (i.e. educate you). With this knowledge you can then perform some detailed research at your convenience (using any search engine you can find a wealth of details regarding the above). Later,

If u have insuance most plans do cover for blood workups. (This might have to done along with a physical and I know of some insurances only allow for 1-2 a year). So check with your insurance carrier and find what the hell u been paying all this money for everyweek, and ask Can I get a blood work done and is it covered if u get it done by your PCP(Primary Care Physican). Medic: Nice response to this thread. I've seen a few of your posts now, and want to congratulate you. You're always helpful, informed, and modest. Glad you're on the board. Anabolicum: A good way to find out what you'll need tested is to visit the New Hope Medical website, and click on the Adobe Acrobat file that includes all the registration material. One of the pages is a "Requisition" form for the blood work they require. Pretty detailed, and I understand that these are the lab values that most docs want to have. You can just print it off and take it with you to your appointment, if you want to. Be well, and lift heavy. Bjaarki ------------------ BECOME SOMEONE'S HERO!
