Is nubain worth a try ,or would it even be helpful to me? If so what are the sides from it? ------------------

Flex,I have horrible shoulder problems as well bro,and like you I got it from military press and bench press.Number one thing to do if you want to avoid surgery is to never do those exercises again, they are shoulder killers. There are dozens of other exercises you can do for your chest and shoulders. You can try Glucosimine Sulfate at 500mg 4 times a day, this as helped me alot. But nothing works better than good old Deca,it is an absolute wonder drug.I use it as a therapeutic dose at only 200mg a week and I am completely pain free.Hope this helps.

I would stay away from Nubain if I was you. A good friend of mine started that shit and went from 230 shredded and now he is like 190. He won't stop taking it and now he looks all ate up and is a shell of the man he once was.

FLEXMEX: That really sucks, man. You haven't told us what the sports medicine docs think. I assume you've had it looked at, right? Shoulders are what are called "floating joints," no ball and socket or anything, just a bunch of ligaments holding everything together. Once you injure them, they stay vulnerable, pretty much permanently. Harleyguy and Mike001 are right about this. You have to (1) find some lifts that don't aggravate the injury, (2) use partial reps on some of these, as it's the experience of full load at extreme rep range (e.g., hypoextension) that can fuck you up, and (3) avoid like the plague the lifts that hurt you, even when you're feeling better, because all it takes is one bad workout and you're back to square one. Anyway, before you start self medicating you should get a good orthopod to check you out. Get back to us and let us know how you're doing with this. Good luck, brother. Bjaarki

This guy my buddy knows took Nubain and he said it was like Liquid Percocette. They gave that to my ex-wife when she was in labor, and it fucked her up! Stay away from that shit. Go to your doctor and try some cortizone or something along those lines. I fucked my shoulders up and got 2 or 3 blast of cortizone. It took a good 6 months and NO lifting to heal. Good luck Bro.

Bro, I have had the same problem, but likely not nearly as severe as you have. Lay off the big weight for a little while, and the lifts that hurt altogether for a while. Do some preventive excercises that strengthen the EXTERNAL ROTATION muscles (rotator cuff muscles that twist arm outward) Check out the "Shoulder Horn". You don't need to buy one of those goofy looking things, but do excercises that mimic that motion and don't use rear delts...use external rotation rotator cuff muscles. In 3-4 weeks it works wonders. If your problem is more serious, see a doc. In any case, excercises to maintain a balance in rotational muscle strength (internal vs. external rotation) are key. Most pressing motions strengthen interal rotation. With no external rotation strength gains, your should goes out of balance, hence the hurt when big weight is used.

Hey bro, what you describe could be one of a couple different conditions. Describing the pain you experience, it might just be bursitis, or a rotator cuff tear. Get a prescrription for a physical therapy eval. If you have the chance, ask to try out TENS (transcutaneous electrical neural stimulation), a device used to distract you brain from pain messages. I like it a hell of a lot better than drugs. If you have any questions, email me. Stay huge bro, Peace!

Bro, I just had my shoulder operated on a month ago. I had the same pain that you did, I could not move my arm above shoulder level without extreme pain. I was lucky. I just had torn cartilage (labrum) and a bone spur. It has been four weeks and I would say that I am at like 70%. I still have not lifted and I still have soreness from the bone shaving. GO SEE A DOC. Dont put injuries off, they just get worse.

i went to the doc when this first happened and it wasnt torn.I dont remember exactly what he said but,it had something to do with being badly bruised. He told me to lay off the shouldr training for a while which i did.i dint hit shoulders for like 3 months.then i started working them litely.just about 1 month ago I was able to start hitting shoulders hard and they felt great too.But the other day i was hitting a really heavy set of incline which is what set it off again ,and all the same pains came back. ------------------

Okay, FLEXMEX. That's what I thought might have happened. You were partially recovered, then you fucked yourself up again with the heavy set of inclines. Couple of words of advice: 1.) Lay off inclines for a long time. You may have to lay off them for good. Yeah, I know that sucks, but you've got a vulnerability now in your shoulders that inclines seem to aggravate. If you're wise, you'll just say a little funeral service for the incline bench, and pretend you don't even see it anyore when you walk in the gym. 2.) Go light and go partial on shoulder lifts for quite awhile. Be very careful at the extreme ranges (hypo and hyperextension). Go so light that you feel like a pussy, but do it. You'll be grateful later. 3.) You'll probably be okay with this, but you might also want to watch out when doing lifts that use shoulders as a supporting structure, like bench dips, that kind of thing. Feel your way along, but be careful. 4. Next time, LISTEN TO WHAT YOUR DOC SAYS. I can't believe that you went to see your doc about this crucial injury, and all you came away with was "I dont remember exactly what he said but,it had something to do with being badly bruised." WTF? C'mon man, this is your bod we're talking about here. Bodybuilders put extreme stress on their bodies, and have to be extremely cognizant of what's going on there at all times. Next time, FlexMex, Listen UP, bro! Sorry to rant on you. Hope this clears up soon, but be ready for a long seige in case it doesn't. Keep us posted either way. Bjaarki

FLEX, try the following, helped me with my shoulder: 1.) stop working out. might depress you, but you'll be more depressed when you lose most movement in arm and can NEVER work out again. 2.) take aspirin and mylanta for the pain with some advil. 3.) icy hot and heating pad every night for a few hours. 4.) amino acid time. pump a major load of aminos into your system and help that muscle heal up quicker. most ppl dont know, but amino dont only help muscle grow, they STRENGTHEN it too. you'll be fine in 2-3 weeks. better than tearing the shit out of it and having surgery. if it doesnt stop, SEE A DOC. ------------------

FLEXMEX: Rather than laying off shoulders altogether, I would just lay off the inclines no matter how much you love 'em (Yeah, you can go ahead and cry, bro, it's good for you!). Then, just feel your way along on the other shoulder lifts. It might in fact be good for you, promote healing, to be doing lifts that involve the shoulder, but that don't hit the joint in a way that inclines do. Experiment with light weights, and partial reps. In my experience, it's the hypoextension part of the range of motion (e.g., elbows below the shoulder) that fuck me up most when doing shoulders. Other guys, it's just the opposite, they're okay so long as they keep their elbows low, and blow their shoulders out when they go high on the rep. That's why you have to feel along for yourself. Anyway, you seem to have gotten the message. It does suck but, hey, I've screwed myself out of half a dozen lifts that I really like. Just move on, bro. Move on down the road. Hope you feel better soon. Bjaarki ------------------ BECOME SOMEONE'S HERO!

FLEXMEX: You might try one of those vertical fly machines. Some models you can adjust them, or you can scoot your ass back and forth to get a kind of "incline" angle to it. Be careful though, bro. Go light, and really watch that range of motion thing I was telling you about. Let us know how it goes. Bjaarki

hey i hurt my cuff too. Do pullovers instead of inclines. just don't us a full range of movement and keep your elbows close together. Also do a chest machine instead of flat bench. And try to use a parallel grip when you do dumbell presses(after you're recoverd), you'll be surprised.

dude im in the same boat as you go to the doctor and have your shoulder checked out. i recently tore cartlidge in my rotator cuff playing college ball. youll probably have to get your shoulder scoped and youll be out half a year. until then, do not do any over head presses, incline bench, and behind the neck pull downs. its better to get this simple fix, than to tough through it and blow out your shoulder and get your shoulder reconstructed, and never lift again good luck
