ive been lifting very heavy lately, 4-6 reps, and ive seen good results. but i have one problem, my chest is noticibly lagging compared to the rest of my body. so my question is should i add another chest only day in my weekly routine? i was thinking, i would work dumbells on one chest day 4-6 reps, and work heavy bb exercises the next, again 4-6 reps. do you think this is a recipe for overtraining?

please, anyone with experience or useful input.

It depends on how many sets you do. If you train HIT style, you can get away with it. I do 20rep squats twice a week.

Hey bro i like to keep a 4day min between chest work outs...for me it gives my chest the perfect amount of days to rest...find your nitch and go with it....you should def. do dumbells...remember changing your work out will help produce growth because the varations in movements stimulates growth...so yes def. throw in some dumbell work outs instead of only barbell work outs...and like i said just get enough rest...i do my chest twice a week and ive seen great results...but i alway have the min.of 4days inbetween..hope this helps

later g

I like doing chest twice a week, but it comes out to four days apart. Here's a veru simplified version of what I do. Squats-Off-Bench-Off-Deadlifts-Off-Bench-Off-Repeat. I do bi's with legs and back, shoulders and tri's with chest. I noticed that when I cut back to doing chest once a week I lost a lot of mass, so I went back to doing it twice a week.

try doing 6 to 8 reps per set instead of 4 to 6. 6 to 8 is optimum for growth anythin below is for strength and anything above is for definition
