Hey bros, what are some of the best quality protein supplements for the money? I've been switching around lately trying to find a solid buy. AST? Prolab? What do some of you use?

I don't worry about quality that much. From what I know when you are consuming large quantities of whey, which I do, the quality isn't really gonna matter that much. I just try to find something that is pretty cheap and that I can digest well. I usually use the big 5 lb container of Prolab whey. It is cheap and tastes good. If your protein supplement gives you real bad gas or the shits that usually means your body is not digesting it properly. I have used many supposed high quality protiens such as Designer and Betastatin and all of them gave me the shits. The Prolab has yet to do this so I am sticlking with it.

Well here is what goes through my body better. Whey protien to me tends to have a not so pleasant taste as does the egg white ones. But while egg white ones, don't get behind me while squatting. Egg protien tends to have some bad sides on you gas output. Whey tends to solidify my waste were as with egg more liquid. I know that is not what everyone wants to hear but letting you know what happens in my body. Designer Strawberry tends to have one of the better taste which I can eat right out of the can and I do sometimes. But once again that one is whey.

I like designer and myoplex, they are expensive but I do not care.

I just bought 5lb of penta pro from protein factory. I'm in canada so after duty and taxes, etc. it came out to be very expensive. From what I hear it's great protein, it's 5 different blends. Just started taking it about a week ago. Don't really like the taste though.

bump. Protein Factory is awesome!!!!!!!!

the taste isn't that bad if you get nutrasweet and acesulfame K as a sweetener
and a good flavor

The quality is 100% guarenteed to to meet the "label" claims as they are a BLENDER and
NOT a supplement company trying to rape you with no LUBRICANT and JISS in your EYES!!!!!!!! Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha

I've got to disagree puc, I think the Solid Protein bars by Nature's Best are the best tasting, and the best value for a high protein, low carb bar...just my 2 cents...

Puc- how could you say protein factory sucks? I love protein factory. You can buy it in flavors if you don't like the unflavored shit. It's also cheaper than a lot of that shit protein you buy at supplement stores.

I'd say the best quality protein is one that is a combination of whey/casein.Whey is rapidly absorbed, but doesn't last long in the system.Casein does not have as an impressive amino-acid profile as whey, but it is released slowly into the blood stream, over a period of a few hours.Combining the two would give you a time-released protein, which is perfect for around the clock positive nitrogen balance.
