Anyone ever use Western Union to send money to someone in another country??? I see where they have a website where it can be done online with a credit card... I am thinking that this way would be bad if you wanted to keept the transaction on the low down. Can you use a false name when you send money?? Thanks for any info ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I think you can use any name you want as long as the reciever knows the exact name you provide WU..However, if something went wrong and the reciever didn't get his money and then you went back to WU to get your money back,,you would have to provide proper ID,,You would also run into problems if you had to track it or something..Bam Bam ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I think it's better just to go to the WU office and tell them you're acting for someone, and that his name would have to be the sender because the guy receiving doesn't know you. Or send your transfer with the signature waived and a false name for the receiver. That way they can't link you with the person receiving the money who ever he is. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I used western union from the U.S. to Europe. I put in a false name and i put my P.O. for the adresse. The only bad thing is that you have to pay 15usd for every transaction you send. It is a good way and is very fast to send money but it is expensive. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

To send western union online you need to fill in the recievers address----not many sources supply that. Also, using a fake name without a credit card ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I used Western Union about two weeks ago to do the same thing and noticed that on the transaction form it states in small green writing (I think) that the sender information must be included if the amount sent is over $1000. I didn't fill in this info and pointed this out to the clerk but she insisted that I needed it so that they could contact me if the transfer was unsuccessful. You may try telling the clerk that you will just come in later to see if it went through and tell her that you are not worried about losing the money- if you're still really concerned about filling in your name and particulars. BTW, for me, Western Union was one of the cheapest ways to transfer money. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I always use a fake name and address but it really doesn't matter. It isn't illegal to wire money and the dealer isn't going to leave receipts laying around. You only need a name to send it to, along with the receiver's state, city or country. The likelyhood that there will be a transaction error that would require you to go and get your money back is so remote that it isn't even worth thinking about. If you have any questions just ask your source. I am sure he has done it hundreds of times. Later, ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
