Does it make much a of a difference where you get your 1.5 grams of protien per pound? i.e. should MRP's only account for half, a third.. etc.. which proteins (talking whole foods here) are the most bio-available? Also, while cycling, I can understand the need for extra protiens, but do not understand the need to increase overall caloric intake. Why Does your body need more carbs while on a cycle? Also, what role do vitamins and minerals play? I never hear the bro's around here talk much about vitamin/mineral supplements while cycling.. Are their certain vits and mins to make sure you have enough of to get the most out of a cycle? Thx ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

It's definitley a good idea to mix up proteins. here's a BV list: Whey isolates-159 Whey Concentrate-104 Egg-100 milk-100 Egg(white only)-88 Fish-83 Beef-80 Chicken-79 Soy-74 Roughly 1/3-1/2 of my daily protein comes from whey shakes. As far as vitamins go, most of your MRP's contain ample supplies. It is a good idea to take extra antioxidants, such as C - 1-5 grams, E - 400-1000 IUs. Most peopl on high protein diets are getting adequate B-Vitamins, as well. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Lets say you get 400 grams of protein a day, at least 300 should come from food, regardless of the biological value food is always better than whey or protein supplements, also with your food get different sources of protein, an example is say you eat 8 meals a day, with 2 meals have chicken, 2 meals have steak, 2 meals have egg whites and 2 meals have some type of fish with your sides being some type of complete protein like beans and rice to get the entire amino acid spectrum. This only answers one of your many questions so I will leave the other questions to some other folks, peace and good luck. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Havoc, What do you say to a vegetarian? Suppose all your protein is soy, fruit(dates), and fish? Isn't that enough? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Good question Ulter, I have a friend who is a pretty successful NPC competitor and he is a vegetarian, he incorporates alot of soy products, certain fish, whey products and a gang of legumes and different types of beans, I would say the same thing to a vegetarian, make sure you get your protein that your body needs but show your body different sources of protein according to your diet whether you eat meat or a vegetarian. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I mix one scoop whey and one scoop MRP. Gives a great cross of proteins and vitamin. Added factor is MRP's are too thick and Whey shakes are runny. Mix'em together and shabam taste great and goes down smooth. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

If you look at a bodybuilder's typical diet, you see mostly protein from whole food. Yes, the BV of the protein in whole foods is lower than whey, but the bottom line is this: Don't worry so much about where you get your protein...Just make sure you get it. BTW, I also wanted to make the point that food proteins tend to work better...Which is why you see bodybuilding diets that consist of real foods. MRP's and protein drinks are good, but real food is where its at. I'd say half or less than half of your protein should come from these (mrp/protein drinks). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
