I'm currentyl cutting and I do have a cheat day (friday). My question is do you actually go eat anything you want? I have a huge appetite, and I swear I can eat pizzas candy bars, fried foods. I can easily eat 6000 calories and 100-150 grams of fat or more on my cheat day. Is that cool or not?? I love sweets and fattening foods. My cheat day is about 10 times more calories and fat than my dieting days. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Whenever i want to lose weight, i always have a cheat day too...I don't go overboard like you are describing, It's just that sometimes on a diet i get a craving for ice cream, or pizza, or a snickers bar or whatever and I'll have it, I try to eat pretty clean on that day, i just get my craving out of my system, you are still on a diet and there is no need to eat yourself to death. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

hey bro just like MR.T said no need to go over board...when i diet i often have a cheat day but i follow my same diet the whole day except i choose anything i want for dinner like a cheeseburger with fries and desert...but stick to the diet the rest of the day....the cheat day is basically a way to eat what you have been craving all week....good luck bro later g ![]() ![]() ![]()

So maybe, I should try like a cheat meal instead of cheat day. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Ok... here is the deal my friend, go ahead and diet hard all week, to the letter, exact calories met... etc. Then eat everything thing you want on day 7, then come back and tell us how crappy you feel for eating all the garbage when you could have continued the diet successfully... ive been there. that feeling is not rewarding in the least. good luck ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Actually thats what I'm gunna do. When Friday comes around I'm gunna hit the buffet for dinner and eat whatever the hell I want to. This way when I'm full, I can just leave and wait until next week. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I lost over 60 pounds of fat 4 years ago.(and kept it off) I had a simple motto "Food is Fuel, not Fun" it worked for me. Now, I just think to myself before I eat anything "How does this help me to increase muscle mass and decrease fat storage?" It's a bit crazy, but it works for me. The theory on cheat days, as I see it is to increase your metabolism (sp?). Kind of like jump starting or shocking your body, to burn more fat over the long run. Another way to look at it, is that it keeps you from going fucking nuts while your on your diet. Anyway you look at it, as long as it's done in moderation, you'll be fine. But you have to use common sense. You don't want to blow one week of hard work on your diet, to eat like fool for one whole day. Try a cheat "meal" instead. Just my .02 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Exactly Lotus, that basically why I aked the question. Last Friday I went to my grandmas house and holy shit!! I ate her whole house. I for sure felt guilty, but on the other hand I was thinking that my body needs all this food to shock my system. I don't want my body to adapt to my very low fat low calorie diet that I'm on. And I don't want to cheat too much on my cheat day and screw up my dieting results. ![]() ![]() ![]()

There have been dozens of articles about shocking your system... i wish i could remeber... just as an example i have heard of people eating low carbs all week then on day 6-7 eating high carbs to boost i believe the insulin levels... im no scientist so i will not pretend to be. try a few searches on the net and see if you come up with anything. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Everyday is a cheat day for me...then again, I'm not cutting. ------------------ "Faster, faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death." ![]() ![]() ![]()

I used to go with the "cheat day" approach....until I found myself feeling like holy shit on Sunday night (my cheat day)...indigestion, heartburn...you name it. Before too long I really never wanted to have a cheat day. Your system expects clean calories and when you throw in a bucket of KFC....you pay for it out the ass. Every once in a while I now have a cheat meal with my bros. DJ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
