I have heard liver functions but more specifically what do I need to have checked? And are their medical names for it? What do I tell my doctor?

Have a Blood Chemistry done and a Lipid Profile....these will cover all the bases...also, check your blood pressure as often as you can, every day if possible. Hope this helps....The 2 tests are just routine blood work that any Dr would prescribe when you go for a physical.

hey buddy,

get values for testosterone, estradiol, all hepatic function tests, and your blood lipid profile.

1. testosterone:
get your blood testosterone(normal range is 240-830 ng/dL)

2. hepatic functions:
get your AST, ALT, and CPK.

3. estradiol:
get your estrogen levels (normal range: 0-56 pg/mL).

4. cholesterol:
get your cholesterol level tested.

5. blood lipid profile:
get your hdl and ldl.

hope that helps bro.
peace,

Go to the New Hope Medical website, click on their "How to get an appointment" (or something like that) button, open up the Adobe acrobat file with the registration forms, and go to the page where it shows the lab tests they want run. That's probably all you need to know.

Good luck, bro.

I'd agree with BigT, Liver function/enzyme and blood pressure are the main ones. In the UK we can get these free although some doctors are very reluctant to spend the NHS money when it could be better spent on people with real ilness. I know there's a lot more you can get checked but my doctor won't do them, just the two mentioned.

I was totally honest with him as to why I wanted them and after listening to his little speach on 'why steroids are so bad' and he knew I was still serious he agreed.
Ironically on my 2nd visit after my 1st course when I'd put two stone on, the same man who'd told me all these horror stories tried to get me signed up for the local rugby team who he was on the board for!

By the way are these tests expensive to get done in the US?
