It always depends on the individual, but you won't see me doing this. The body needs time to repair muscles and one to two meals per day won't cut it (at least for me). I'm sure you'd lose weight, but I'm willing to bet 30-50% of that would be LBM. ------------------ (formerly known as ajc1977) Visit my website at http://profiles.elitefitness.com

it has a lot of great points but i agree that you need to be eatting more to prevent muscle loss. or at least to keep it to a min. i hate it when i read two really well suported articals that contadict each other. what to do? ? ?

I disagree with the premises. For starters, 6 true ketogenic meals a day won't inhibit lipolysis. 6 meals a day provides optimal levels of amino acids for protein synthesis. Any meal as large as the ones described will always result in putting on fat. Besides, last I checked Sumo wrestlers only eat 2 meals a day too.

When I eat a few small meals a day, I am always hungry, I am always alert, I get great pumps at the gym, I am friendly and social...I think this diet would be very tough because it would have a negative impact on all the things I like when I eat a few small meals... I think with that diet I would get to the gym and be so damn weak I would leave and go get a pizza.

Personally, I have had good results with the "warrior" diet. I tried it last spring after reading the T-mag article, with some modifications. I had gained size over the winter, but looked smooth. My lifestyle always made it difficult for me to plan and prepare 5-6 proper meals a day anyway, and I have always lifted in the late afternoon, so this worked good for me. I have two MRP's during the day, lift, and then eat whatever I want in the evening, and I mean anything and lots of it. At first I lost weight, and didn't feel as strong, but you get used to it. Now my weight is back to where it was, but I am much leaner - got abs, veins across delts, pecs, and abdomen. I don't seem to hold water, and yes, heavy on the androgens the whole time. Of course what works for one can be a flop for others, only way to know is experiment. Brother, haven't seen an update on your pgf2 experiment - have you tried the calves yet? |
