Here's my problem: I'm an older guy, 49 years old, and have been lifting for coming up to 5 years. I'm in the best shape of my life, but I have a number of goals in the weight room that I just know I'm not going to be able to meet without some "hormone replacement therapy". Problem is, I'm a family man with a successful career and a wife and kids to protect, and after much soul searching I've come to the conclusion that it would be best for me to go a "legitimate" route, by acquiring a legal script for AS through an endocrinologist, sports medicine doc, whatever. I want, if possible, to locate a physician in my area, New Jersey - actually, anywhere between Philly and New York - who would at least be willing to seriously discuss this with me. I know that there must be a few brothers out there who have gone this route, and could help me out. I've discussed this with one of the mods and a couple of the vets offline, and they feel this thread probably won't generate much, but is worth a try. So, here it is.

I'm aware that this is a sensitive matter, so if you can help me, it would be best to email me offline rather than post to this thread. Just looking for an openminded doc in my area, is all. Thanks for your help.

If you do get a script, it will likely be for a very small amount that won't do much in the way of building muscle. But, if you've got the prescription for example say, Testosterone Propionate you can't get in trouble if you've got a 3 month supply. So get whatever gear you can from the pharmacy and then get a little extra from a source.

Also, bb4424, I have regular indemnity insurance, and my GP knows me pretty well, member of my congregation and everything, and he knows my sex drive is not a problem. He also knows how good shape I'm in, so it's not easy to spin some BS story. Flexmex, your idea is good, but my web surfing has come with zero, nada. That's why I put this thread out there, hoping some local guy who has gone this route would take pity.

Well you can always choose to go the route of mail order physicians. Some actually prescribe you almost anything, otherwise, choose another GP and if the question comes up about the "why don't you see your regular GP?" You can always say he is a member of your church and you think the issue is "too sensitive" to discuss with him. Believe me, it happens all the time.

I think you're right about most physicians, but I believe that the barriers to docs getting into serious anabolic supplementation are beginning to fall, as "life extension" medicine and other trends intensify. I know of at least one clinic that will prescribe 250+ mg testosterone cypionate, along with 200+ mg deca durabolin, along with halotestin, on a permanent basis to older guys. I've exchanged emails with two of the bros on this board, one of whom is well known, about this, and I believe them. Maybe that kind of dosage is not a Captain Insano cycle but, hey, there's nothing to prevent the enterprising patient from saving up four months of the those 250/200 redijects, and putting together a fine 8 week cycle.

My problem is locating a doc close to me with whom I could develop a good, understanding, professional relationship to get me where I want to go in terms of AS use, weights and fitness. Believe me, brothers, in 20 years or so that will be nothing unusual in medical practice, and what I'm looking for right now is the doc who is already there, ahead of the curve, so to speak. Two brothers have dropped notes in my hush box, maybe there's a lead there, and others are very welcome to do so.
