I just read the insert of my insulin package and it says that after 28 days you should get rid of the bottle even if there is still insulin in it. WTF?      | ||

Bump. I'd also like to know as I'm taking Humalog for the first time. I didn't get an insert and was planning on using the same one for 5 weeks. | ||

Insulin has a tendecey to go bad after that 28 day period. Most drugs you can still use after the expired date they just get weaker. But I wouldn't trust the insulin for more than 5 weeks.(one week past the expirey date). [This message has been edited by aten8 (edited September 18, 2000).] | ||

Thanks for that. I should be ok for my five weeks then. I'm also keeping it in the fridge and the longest it is out is for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours per shot (from drawing it in the syringe, driving to gym, training and using it straight after) | ||

huh? Wait a minute, 28 days? NO way, my insulins expiration date is FEB 2002. | ||

It's 28 days after it's been used or opened. |
