Yo Bro's,

I currently train 6 days a week and have for the past 14 years. A few breaks in between. I've been of the junk for a while and just got back into heavy training and I am about to go on a 500mg Sus/25MG Deca/Clomid 8 week cycle. My current Workout split is.
mon: Chest/Tri
tue: Back/Bi
Wed: Shoulder/Leg
thu: Light Chest / Light Tri
Fri: Light Back / Light Bi
Sat: Light Shoulder/ Light Leg
Calves and ABS Mon, Weds, Fri,
Cardio Tues, Thurs, Sat,

Sunday is football on the couch.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks Bro's

If your still making gains its not too much. I personally agree with most people that you should only work a bodypart once a week. That eliminates the need for a light day and a heavy day, you can hit it hard and get out of the gym. You also give the body part 7 whole days to recuperate. Most body parts get indirect work anyhow, like triceps get during chest and delt days, biceps during back days. So its an idividual thing!!! Only you can decide if it will work for you.

I can only tell you to listen to your body, if you feel invigorated during the day, that means all of the exercise is giving your body a good load. If you feel tired all of the time or depressed and sore you're probably overtraining. I usually only hit one bodypart twice a week, and I rotate what badypart I hit twice a week, every week. I hope you can fallow this, I didn't know how else to write it. Good Luck.

Thanks for the advice guys. I suppose I should also say that I need to lift 6 days a week because I have one of those rediculously stressful jobs. It keeps me sane and off America's most wanted.

I don't see how you can hit the same body part twice in one week. For instance, you train legs on Wed. and then again on Sat. I train my legs on Tue. and can't hardly lift myself out of a chair until Sat. Either you have some incredible power of recouperation or your intensity sucks. Try doing drop sets on squats and see if you feel like training legs twice a week.

This is not intended to be a flame, I just can't relate to this training split.

My Split is as follows:
Day 1 Chest
Day 2 Back
Day 3 Shoulders
Day 4 Legs (AM)/ Arms (PM)
Day 5 Rest
Day 6 Back to Chest

At least every other workout I go to eccentric failure and I always go to concentric failure. I focuse on compounds, squats, deads, presses, pullups, dips. I am not overtrained, and put on 30 pds in three years - thats before getting swol with the gear.

I have average genetics and I am more than ready to go by Day 6.

Peace

I wonder if i am overtraining myself, we work out parts twice a week until failure every workout! I thought that was what the gear was for, fast recovery times.

Mach 2, I agree. I think if you loading the protien, carbs . . .and SUPPLEMENTS, you should be able to train each body part 2x, per week. The way I get around injury and burn out is Heavy sets per body part 1x/week. That includes 4 sets with a max of 8 reps per exercise no more than 4 exercises per body part. I goto light work the 2nd half the week and usually do 12-16 reps w/ out 60% of what I use on my heavy day. As for the bro who questioned my work ethic I invite you to NY and we can hit the gym together. My leg day ends with limping 16 blocks back to my apartment. I go with the listen to your body thing. If your not tired than train, train, train. If you're getting results than your not training or eating enough.

Peace

That's fine, you asked if we thought you were training too much and I told you what I thought.

Kodiak:

I guess I'll jump in here, too. Personally, I think that if your schedule is working for you, then that's fine. A lot of the bros think that training six days per week is "overtraining," but I think that's mostly a bullshit concept that is overapplied and poorly understood. Again, if it's working for you, you're good to go.

I might, though, agree with Yoday and FGL that you might want to work an sixway split, rather than a light/heavy day thing on the same bodypart. I do a sixway, so let me run this by you. My object is to give at least a 72 hour recovery period between direct and even indirect work on all bodyparts, and this works for me.

Sunday: Bis and tris
Monday: Legs (squats, DL, etc.), abs, some shrugs
Tuesday: Shoulders
Wednesday: Upper back (you're using bis here, too, but you haven't worked them since Sunday)
Thursday: Traps (just a million sets of shrugs. My traps suck, so I put a whole day into them) and abs
Friday: Chest (you'll get a little shoulder involvement here, too, but you haven't worked shoulders since Tuesday).

This plan works pretty well for me. BTW, I completely sympathize with your need to train every day. Exactly the same with me.

Be well, and lift heavy, bro.

All the fellas made some good points about overtraining. The best advice is too listen to your body . I f you are still sore when you go to train each body part the 2nd time each week then you are probably overtraining. I personally prefer to train each muscle once per week, but have seen many bodybuilders do a similar routine as the one you described. One other thing, you should limit your dbol use to 5-6 weeks rather than 8. 8 weeks of dbol can be rather hard on your liver and you usually stop making gains after 5-6 weeks as well.

ThickDog, Bjaark, Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it. Traps fortunately aren't a problem. I am one of those pretty lucky guys w/ good symetry, thickness and strength. Granted now in my early 30's its not as easy to maintain. I would say the only body part I am lazy about and need to blast everyday or at least every other is Calves. But so do almost every other guy accept over weight high-school football coaches. The D-bol advice is sound and I'll definately follow it. I am off to the gym. Take it easy bro's

Training Split before the gear

one body part a week 4-6 reps 3 sets nine sets total for a given body part!

Juiced up!

Day 1 - Chest/Back/calves
Day 2 - Tris/Bis
Day 3 - Legs/Shoulders/calves
Day 4 - Chest/Back
Day 5 - Tris/Bis
Day 6 - Legs/Shoulders/calves
Day 7 Rest and eat like a horse!!
Sometimes hitting calves four to five times a week!

I train heavy and intense more so now i have been on the juice, always take sets to complete failure!

Train Hard or Wear a Skirt!
