i'll have to keep my brace on for about 3 weeks total (1.5 weeks left) and then start rehab. Has anyone every experienced with this type of injury... if so, when did you go back to the gym.. and how long did it take you to get back to where you were?? Did you notice any pain after you recovered???

A good mate of mine had a similar injury. He was out for the better part of 3 months. In his case he played rugby and would dislocate his shoulder in just about every game. It got so bad that he had to go for an operation.

Anyway, when he got back to training, he had to really build up the muscles in his shoulders to compensate. I remember him doing lots of rotator cuff exercises too.

I had my shoulder retracted after my pec tear, probably the same sling. I was in that thing for 8 weeks. The rehab program was for rotator cuff injuries. I needed a solid 6 weks just to get full movement back, this was due more to the pec. I did and still do have some shoulder stiffness, its been 9 mos. since surgery. Go through your rehab and do exactely what they tell you to do. You never realize how much your shoulder is involved with most of your lifts.
