No TV coverage for bodybuilding (well, ESPN might show it around 3 a.m. about 6 months after it takes place), but http://www.flexonline.com will broadcast it live on the web on October 21st (I think that's the date...) so you can check it out live on there! Hope "this" helps, bro! ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

When did espn become biased about bodybuilding? I don't watch it really but I remember years ago, about 90, 92 that there were many great BB shows on. Not just all the contest coverage but great how to shows with Lee Haney how to etc. Is Nascar & Tennis much more important of what? ------------------ GO NAVY! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Wellllllllllll................ actually tennis and Nascar get more fans by accident than Body Building will ever get. Dont get me wrong, I'm a BB fan to the end, but the commercial attraction just isnt there because of Weider. A few years ago ESPN made an announcement that they would basically only cover "Natural" events. They've taken a anti-drug stance I guess. I guess we'll have to watch the tape when Weider deems us worthy of it, LOL!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The Weiders......Ben included are only interested in pushing their substandard supplements. It's a damn shame that a $ driven monopoly can determine whats made available for the masses to view.......but hell, theirs nothing new about that now is there! ------------------ GO NAVY! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

On what basis do you call Weider "substandard supplements"? I have seen test done on his products by other magazines and companies...and they are always with the class of the field....some of them may not taste the greatest..and they are not the cheapest...but I don't believe they are substandard ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

BB will neevr catch on with the mainstream public....most people have no interest in seeing guys stand onstage and pose...it isn't exciting unless you are a diehard fan, and also, to most people, all those guyys look the same. Also, I don't think there is much sport in BB because it is ALL up to the judges and somebody always gets fucked every time. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

i think BB will never get big because weider has fucked it all up. They own the BB federation, they own the magazines that cover it, they own numerous supplement companie(that suck!) and make weight training equipment (which really really suck) ther is no way it will get big till their monopoly gets broken up. Fuck microsoft weider has all the power in htis buisiness. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

#1--I have no problem with the Weiders, they are in BUSINESS, and are doing a good job in it, for the $$...#2--I think if bodybuilding went "mainstream," it would SUCK, 'cause right now (and more so in the past) it's more like a cult/clan, than a team or anything, and that KICKS ASS! It's egotistical, and the ultimate test of inner strength! Team sports CANNOT compare in my opinion (I like 'em, but won't compete in 'em anymore!)...just my 2 cents on the future of bodybuilding... ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I'm totally with Badkins, do you really want it to be mainstream? Do you want to be one of many huge mofo's walking around? Put it on PPV for 10 bucks, just enough to discourage the judgemental, and a small fee that I would gladly pay to see the O. LAter ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The Weiders Lets see : Former kings of the snake oil supplement trade.Current print media giant. These guys treat their signed athletes like shit. Treat past champions the same way. Pluses. Responsible for developing many basic principles of training that are still adhered to today. On the other hand, the athletes who sign the contracts are aware of what they are giving away. Go Figure. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Actually , the main reason that ESPN has reduced the converage of bodybuilding is because the lack of drug testing. The IFBB has plans to implement a extensive drug testing program for Olympics but until then they have a little diuretic testing and that's it. Without complete drug testing ESPN will not support bodybuilding coverage. ![]() ![]() ![]()
