If you have never read of the Darwin Awards I think some of you would find them very amusing. They are true stories of people doing things so dumb that they die from it. The awards are a reward for them being kind enough to die so as to remove their defective chromosomes from the human gene pool. Drinking and taking orals is about that dumb dudes. I had not been to this site for several days and went back and read again a few posts regarding "when it is safe to drink with dianabol", "taking pills and the liver" etc. I had posted some messages stating that MORE beer would help protect the liver, and quoted phoney scientific articles about how pilsner beers are a better L-glutathione sparer then milk thistle, and that beer addsa a protective factor to the liver by promoting diuresis through the kidneys. I laughed really hard when I read several people who responded to my post, thinking what I said was real and that they were going to drink more beer to protect their liver. Then I felt kind of bad. The articles I quoted from the Journal of the American Medical Association and the New England Journal of Medicine are bogus. One clue is the authors are the characters from Seinfeld (Kramer, Costanza and Bennes). Beer (even if it is a pilsner) is an added load on the liver. Right now I have had to discontinue a Ref-B level because it fucked my liver up so bad. My SGPT was 10 TIMES the maximum reference level and my SGOT was twice the maximum levels, in the blood. I don't drink at all either. It really fucked my liver up. I am sure that is an exception, but even if the odds are one in a million, and you are that one it is bad. Anyway, guys don't believe everything you read or hear. Double check it. I was thinking of posting a message stating TYLENOL has a protective effect on your liver so take 10 tylenol a day during a cycle (FYI : Tylenol is very very bad for the liver. It is the #1 cause of adult liver failure and the leading cause for children needing liver transplants. I have had one patient with liver and kidney failure from tylenol - a young man in his twenties). But I am not going to post the tylenol post since apparently some of you would act upon it. Man...my brothers and I would have a great time with anyone who is that gullible as we are quite the practical jokers. Not to flame those who come here and trustingly believe what anyone tells them - but do you want people to read about you on the Darwin Awards when you wash down some reforvit-B with a beer and 10 tylenol? Here is a real tip : If you are doing IM injections. Get a 25 LB block of ice. Chip of like 5 LBS. Ice your thigh for like 5 minutes prior to injecting. The stick will be essentially impreceptible as it kind of numbs your leg. Also you will have less liklihood of hitting a vien as cold causes vasoconstriction and they will shrink a bit. Be sure to swab your leg with alcohol after you ice as the ice etc is not sanitary. A friend of mine forgot to swab and got an infection just a week ago. But research and don't just take anyones word for anything....know it for yourself. or else at least don't blame anyone if things don't turn out right.

Bro, I don't think that joke is funny. I did not see the original post but I hope someone jumped on it to dispell your myths before any harm was done. Understand that many of the guys/girls here are very young and/or do not have a background in science. Many are gullible or impressionable and will take what you say seriously. What if they don't see this post and continue to believe your earlier statements? Furthermore, what if they passed this information on to others and are now too embarassed or forget to make a retraction? It is true that not everyone here possesses the same level of intelect, knowledge and education. But someone who's strengths lie elsewhere should not be deliberately misled in such a way. I realize your frustration in seeing what you consider to be stupid posts. We all see posts that we consider stupid and our attitude becomes one of 'everyone know's that' and 'its just common sense'. But as Mark Twain said "Common sense is not all that common at all". So, in short, realize that almost anything you post, whether humerous or not, can be taken seriously by someone. What many of us want on this board is to have the most accurate information possible on which to base decisions that may affect our health. With all the conflicting information and opinions out there this is difficult enough without sorting through practical jokes. Not a flame, bro . Just my opinion.

I did not start the post. My post was a reply. There were in response to a couple of original posts started by others. One was from somebody who had a bunch of pills (he was not sure what they were, or what they were called) that he was washing down with some beer. The title of the post was : "pills and your liver". His question in the post was : how bad are pills on your liver when combined with beer. No real information as to what pills etc. I mean, you almost have to assume that is a joke. Who hasn't heard beer is bad for your liver since you were 7 years old? |
