I am just wondering what you guys would suggest to eat after the gym. For example, if I were totrain at like 8:00 p.m be home and showered by 10:00 or so and were gonna go to bed at like 11:00 or 12:00. What would you eat to feed your muscles after that intense workout knowing that you are gonna go to bed soon. Also you are trying to gain lean muscle and not fat. Any suggestion are welcomed.

American Bodybuilding has a great post workout drink called Mass Recovery. I can't think of anything better to help muscles grow after a workout. Drink it within an hour after you've finished your workout.

something like steak, good protien and will break down slower than the mixed drinks, feeding your body slowly thru the night instead of all at one time.

I think that a protein shake would be good, but I think you are going to need a blend of complex and simple carbs with a little fat from solid foods...they make you grow the best...this way your muscle cells will fill up fast, and the complex will help fuel them all night...

The best thing would be to have at least 70gms of carbs (1/2 of an ultrafuel by twin labs) immediately after, then eat a small to moderate meal as soon as practical after you arrive home, and then a protein shake before bed. You can also mix up a protein shake and when you wake up in the middle of the night, drink some. Usually it is your body saying feedme, I am hungry, so you wake up.

Hey bro I am in that same situation often and this is what I eat. A MRP with extra protien and I blend it with milk some fruit juice and Peanut butter and I eat a big slab of turkey breast. The milk and the turkey help me get to sleep.
Best of luck, you will have to find something that works for you

I just eat a regular meal, but I am always hungry. Any protein rich food like cottage cheese would be good. Casein protein is the best for slow breakdown.

You should eat a normal post workout meal consisting of a good deal of carbs to replenish your glycogen stores, and protein to feed your muscles. The last thing your would want before your goto sleep is an insulin spike, but because you have just worked out the carbs wont create a spike.

Hope This Helps

just eat protein, i think simple lean protein, make a tuna salad a little carbs a little fat, and eat it before u shower. shakes are good, but i dont really like taking suppliments before i go to sleep they're too fast acting you want somthing that will break down slowly over the course of the night.

My choice is 200 grams of chicken breast and 70 grams of rice.....or 'Anabolic activator' drink that has 75 grams of carbs and 45 grams of protein!
