Just curious, Why do you think people hack Elite? And why do you think we have had so much hate on the boards in the past? This is a fitness forum! I just do not get it. i over look all the BS that goes on sometimes. it does get annoying. actually, since i have been here , i only have known of the board starting to be hacked when corgon and his buddies came in and their post were deleted for source posting. there are so many opinions that fly around here and many people take things personnal, why, i dont know. there is great knowledge on this board and it is shared amoung everyone. i love this board and have since january. thats why i continue to come back . | ||

I'm with Slopain. Other boards want more people involved. This is the only board that I ever go to, due to the great format, the experienced, more-than-willing-to-help people here, and the list goes on. I think that pisses the other boards off, because they're not number one. This board is simply the best. No more to say. | ||

Multiple reasons 1. either the little fucker gets flamed and wants to ruin it for everyone else..... 2. other boards who know they suck and think the can ruin our parade. 3. Just another fucking loser trying to give me RAGE....LOL 4...George honestly, i cant figure out why people want to screw with the board...i take this board very serious it has become a part of my routine i look forward to talking to the brothers of ELITE....This board is a good board to build realationships with brothers all over the world.........

1. High profile sites are always targets (i.e. take it as a compliment). 2. The challenge, George, the challenge. But as you stated earlier today, the more you are hacked the better your site security becomes (technology/system admin.) and your team's skill set continues to evolve. I think because this is such a popular site and hackers want to be were the action is so as to be able to disrupt as many people as possible, it also may be an easy target for young hackers, maybe a lack of security,though i don't know that.just my thoughts i am curious, how many "hits" does elite get in a day? | ||

they do it because we're the best site in the genre and because there are a lot of members(people to piss off). I they hack yahoo's chat board, everyone will just go to excite and enjoy the same quality. Here, anything else is a step down, and a hassle. That's why they target elite. ------------------ | ||

Hackers are weak minded fools who take pleasure in causing pain anonymously. They would act different if they had to do it in person. Or, maybe it is the government that is hacking in and gobbling all the info they can on the users. Maybe that is why are accounts have been wiped. I didnt' read everyones response, but i think it can be someone of those guys that come on and bump like crazy or they post sources, then get totally flamed for it. They can be pissed off(they also can kiss my ass). But i thought that maybe its the gov. trying to shut down the site. But thats my opion. Actually i think the hackers are some scamming sources who we've exposed as scammers. I can think or corgan as one, i'm pretty sure he's in on it. I can understand them being upset, after all we've ruined their scamming business. | ||

Yup, I agree with Bgriff its someone who got flamed or exposed as a scammer. This board is the best, but you got to admit when it comes to flaming a newbie we're also right up there to. I've been saying it over and over again that you need to be careful what you say to people, if you keep dumping on people randomly your eventually going to cross someone who can do something about it, or at the very least is able to hire someone to do it for them. george, here's my opinion... bottom line there is somewhat of a science to steroid use. i would say that a high majority of members here are above average intelligence. i would also say a high number of peole here have professional careers or in college. having said this, these are the kind of people that have computer training, and some more than others that would know how to hack into a website. i dont think your average italian cooking board member could figure that out... ------------------ | ||

When the hackers came here last month they were shut down by our "hacker buster", from the UK I believe. But not before "hacker buster" (I forget his name) toasted one of their hard drives in retaliation for their hacking this board. The game is now on. Most hackers, in this case script kiddies, hang in groups, Dark Angels, Frozen Crew, Dark Shadows etc consist of several members from around the world. So when you attack one you give them all a new "cause". This website is a particularly interesting challenge to them because it is not just a website it is a web "application", a program that is a lot of fun for them to crack. This is not over and may never be over until like someone said they get bored. The cost for the kind of security expert that it would require to lock down this site is around $20-$30,000 last time I checked. | ||

i agree with you ulter.... They stay in groups. So if you mess with one, then there are many more to follow. But no matter what you do to secure your computer, there will always be a way to hack into any system. It happens to the gov. computers, and they have the money for the security. Lets just hope nonthing serious ever happens by there hacking attempts. | ||

George, you tell us. When the site is hacked, what happens that we don't see? Are Member personal data files(IP addresses, original email addresses, cookies, credit card #'s) collected by Elite downloaded or copied? If so, then its probably gov. retained hackers gathering info. or just practicing. If they just fuck with things like # of posts, user names or just crash the site, then its amateurs who enjoy the challenge, or have a bone to pick. | ||
