I know it's not an anabolic, but I recently talked to someone that was selling Xanax (I think that is how ya spell it) anyhow, what is it ,besides an anti-deppresant. What are the effects? go with a cycle? thanx in advance for any help..     | ||

First of all xanax is not an anti depressant. It is an Anti anxiety drug. If you were depressed and took xanax there is a good chance you could become suicidal. People who are depressed have low levels of seritonon and since xanax is used to lower the seritonon in people who have anxiety or very high levels of seritonon, xanax will make a depressed person even more depressed and possibly even suicidal. It has absolutely nothing to do with body building and is a very powerful narcotic especially when mixed with alcohol. I suggest staying away from it if you care about your mind and body. | ||

Basically the shit will knock you out for about 10 hours when mixed with alcohol. DO NOT MIX THE TWO!!! Some people will stay awake and then not remember one thing. Even the 0.5mg ones knock me out and I'm almost 240lbs. I only take them when the next day is a non-training day and I can't fall asleep. you'll feel dizzy and slightly euphoric before you crash. But it's different for everyone. | ||

I agree with Deltzilla. I use the 1.0mg ones once in a while if I am having trouble falling asleep. It knocks me right out. But the next day you feel groggy all day. Do not take with alcohol. D. | ||

George's info is right on. I use xanax when I can't sleep(about once or twice a week)and have had no negative side effects. | ||

George, Thanks for the correction you are right, it is not a narcotic but rather a benzodiazepine. How ever it does definitely effect serotonin. The reason I'm so sure is I sat through a medical malpractice case and listen to the professional witnesses read right from medical journals how xanax can effect depressed people's serotonin. Also the insert that the drug company provides with the drug states right in it that depressed people on anti-depressants should not use this drug and if they do suicidal tendencies can result. The doctor was sued by a family that son committed suicide while addicted to xanax and clinically depressed. The doctor was prescribing 5mg xanax pills over the phone for a urological condition with out seeing the patient for over 2 years. He also never preformed any kind of evaluation of his mental state either before every deciding prescibe the drug. | ||

5mg Xanax pills? Alprazolam is only available in .25mg, .5mg, 1mg, and 2mg. I've never seen 5mg Xanax. D. | ||

I was always prescribed Xanax with Zoloft. The Xanax was for anxiety attacks, which many people have never experienced. It's like an adrenal rush brought on by negative thoughts. A real, bummer, believe me,especially in the middle of the night. The Zoloft is like Prozac.. I'm surprised it's not suppose to be prescribed with anti-depressants. Guess I'll have to read the insert. | ||

I need to clarify something here. It is not that you can not take the anti-depressant and xanax together but rather chemically depressed people should not take xanax since they already have low levels of seritonin. Thus xanax will bring them into a further depression and possibly suicide. | ||

back in the day, i used to take a few pills and smoke a couple bowls---i wouldn't be able to move for hours. it was fucking great. the ultimate relaxer---to some it up, that's all it is: a muscle relaxer, and it does it's job well. (all of the victoria secret angels couldn't get me up after a couple of these.) TC -----pain is temporary pride is forever----- | ||

My advice on Xanax is this: Don't use it, it's addictive and is a total bitch to get off of. I used it just to calm down while on a cycle and got addicted. I was eating 7-10 2 mg pills (Scuds on the street) a day. It's really not worth it. Valium is addictive as well, but probably less so (at least for me). Benzos are bad news, just my opinion, I could be wrong. | ||

Clorazapam, alprazolam, diazapam, lorazapam They are all muscle relaxers and mild tranquilizers used treat anxiety and stress. They are usually the first form of med the shrinks use to treat the symptoms of these conditions. Unfortunately if depression is the underlying condition these meds can exacerbate the problems. Personally, I love the 2mg Ativan(lorazapam). Do not mix these with alcohol unless you want a total blackout and serious memory loss. It wipes the boards, but all to often those personal notes too. | ||

after i got divorced about a 1.5 years ago and my x wife took my now 2 year old daughter to north carolina. i started taking xanex before and during nights out at the bars.i would drink around 4/5 bears then start on the hard stuff about 10 absolute and seven ups and 4/6 blue xanex i think they were 1.0s.anyway i was a fucking ahole so im told because i could never remember what happened the night before. freinds would call the next morning to tell me what i did.i guess one time after nailing my x girlfreind for hours i got some harsh dick burn and the next night while all fucked up on xanex/absolute right in the middle of a bar i was telling a few freinds about it and decided to whip out my dick and show everybody the dick burn.also choke slamed my x girlfreind in the front lawn one night when i came home ripped on xanex/absolute and she didnt want to fool around.and there are a lot of other times that i wont get into.anway i havnt touched one xanex since march and im not about to i learned when i mix the two together i loose my mind. | ||

i swear im not bullshiting why would i lie about choking my 5,2 115lb girlfreind if it wasnt true. do you think its somthing to be proud of?.because i know i felt like a real ahole for a while after that.and i said 4 to 6 blues not 7/10 and a lot of times i did have only the pink ones .with liquer they made me hyper and wild for about 4/5 hours then i would pass out.i know what your saying though because id give them to freinds and they would just go to sleep i guess they effect everyone differently.all im trying to say is be carefull with drinking and taking xaneys ive been through it. | ||

I've seen alot of people get violent on xanies and alcohol. It just makes me walk into walls and pass out when I drink on them. I don't like them a whole lot. V's are alot better, smoother anyway. | ||

I used it when I had my knee surgery!! It was cool shit!!! HAHAHHA Doc gave me that and some other pain killer!!! BWHAHAHAHHA ------------------ |
