Ok bros' after doing my 5th set of Deadlifts today ive decided that for me Deads are the most horrible things created by man!!! I still can taste the bile in my mouth from almost yacking more than once during the last few sets...

I know squats are horribly painful aswell but for me... The trophy goes to Deadlifts for the most god aweful painful lift!

What do you think?

High rep squats(15-20) reps are very painful. Stifflegged deadlifts are pretty awesome too. The one that burns the most for me is high rep drop sets on leg extensions, talk about lactic acid buildup. Squats and deads are th emost effective, though. If I puke every few leg and deadlift sessions, then I'm happy.

Deadlifts are more painful but I love the results from them. For me squats are worse because on the last few reps I'm scared as hell to squat down because with those large amounts of weight I'm not convinced a spotter can fully give the ammount of assistance needed to avoid injury. I give the trophy to squats.

I want to beat the crap out of the person who said to do "ass to the floor" squats! I could hardly walk for TWO DAYS as my inner thighs were just fried!

Deadlifts have to be the worst, then high rep squats and then any kinda of ab work. I try to do a least 15 squats on my first set and I have come very close to passing out.

What about tricep pushdowns?

Just kidding, I have to go with squats. I mean in the deadlifts, either the bar comes off the floor or not. Squatting, eithe your ass comes off the floor or not. Not much of a choice but to push that mutha back up.

Jae

One of the most awesome sights I have ever seen was a big bro from back home who did 150 non lock deep squats with 135 pounds on a free bar. No sissy smith machine. He would do 50, suck in air for 30 seconds, do 50 more, suck in more air, then the last 50. I swear when he hit the 125 rep mark, you were absolutely sure he was going to blow his quads all over the wall.

oh yeah... he puked his head off too. Did it work? 34" quads don't lie man.

Jae's right. The worst thing that can happen with deads is you don't get the bar off the floor. Squats, though, are one of those weird lifts where the beginning of the rep is the eccentric portion, and those are always much worse, IMO. Bench is the same way. But with squats, it's pretty humiliating to be down in the hole and be unable to come back up. Happens to me all the time, that's why I use a squat rack. So, for me, squats are worse than deads.

Squats and deads are both essensial for building a massive phisique. So they must be done regardless. I like squats the best though, they get the trophy.

if you are built to squat,,, the squat will come natural with good form.
if your not built to dead lift (long arms. long torso, long thigh bone) your deadlift might be of some struggle. work what is weak and you will overcome.
