today was the first day back from a week off of training; i expected my srength to be through the roof but i only got a couple extra reps in. i did not know what to expect because it was my first time over training but i expected much more. i worked chest and tris, and for some reason my chest took a while to overload with blood then usual, meaning my tris were doing all the work and i did not feel too much in my chest; what the hell is this? do you guys think that my muscles were shocked a little too much after my break or what? im a little pissed off right now, has this ever happened to you before? maybe next workout i will be stronger who knows. any opinions or experiences would be very much appreciated

Nobu, You may have been trying to hard to blow your chest up to meet your expectations that you started using improper form. You were probably using your tris to much. this type of shit can happen to anyone,,especially if you partied or didn't get the proper rest.. Don;t be frustrated, Try to forget about and concentrate on your next workout..goodluck bro ........Bam Bam ![]() ![]() ![]()

Nobu: There's a lot of individual variability in the response to layoffs. Personally, I find I always come back much weaker, not stronger, after a layoff, and I've posted elsewhere to the board that I think the important ingredient here is longevity of training: Guys who've been training for many years seem to benefit from layoffs, guys who've just started, or who've only been lifting for a few years, don't benefit as much, if at all. I've been lifting for five years, and still don't benefit from layoffs. I read somewhere that many lifters lose about 1% of their strength for each day of layoff. As I said, it's different for everybody. Bjaarki ------------------ BECOME SOMEONE'S HERO! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I took one layoff and found that I not only did not benefit from it but I also lost size, weight and strength. This was only a five-day break also. I've been training for a bit less than one year. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
