Alright bros have a question for you.. How do you build those peaks on your biceps? I have been training for 5 years now, and my arms are pretty big.I've done BB curls, preachers,e-z,hammer,rope,concentration,you name it I've probably tried it. My bi's are nice and full, but round. Can I just chalk this up to bad genetics, or do I have a prayer. I did notice last year I got my b/f down to about 8% it helped a little bit. I'm currently around 12 with no goals of getting that lower til next srping. Any suggestions? ------------------

Shape is more or less a matter of genetics, you could do more isolation exercises like concentration curls but usually if it aint there, it aint going to be, LOL. Reducing body fat always makes them look more peaked, for obvious reasons.

I agree, shape does revolve around genetics. Albert Beckles, Eddie Robinson, those boys always had that tight peaked bicep, even as kids. I saw a picture of Eddie at 16, same exact arm, 8' smaller. Kevin Levrone, is blessed with massive fucking arms, but he couldnt synthol a peak from those hamhocks. However, like everything anatomical, you can break the genetic barrier with years of work. Generally, any type of curl done where the points of the elbows are directly perpindicular to your toes will work. Spider Curls, concentration curls, etc. ------------------

What are spider curls? do you think cable work helps the peak.

Spider curls are done on the back side of the preacher bench, the most vertical plane. Also try standing double bicep cable curls. It's like your doing a double bicep pose but squeeze the contraction for a second or two. Do these last and you arms will burn!

I have read that hammer curls work the long head of the biceps more and that pushes the short head out more so that you have more peak. I have great peak on my bicepts and I do alot of concentration curls at the end of my workout. I also have short bicepts so that makes them ball up more. I think genetics play the biggest role though. Later,

Try putting the handles on the high cables, keep your elbows perpendicular to the floor and squeeze to your ears. Hard to explain I guess, but I always finish off biceps with this excersize. Gives a nice peak. D.

I have heard that hercules curls work on your peak. You take the top handles on the cables and while standing arms out...curl them towards your head. Hence you look like you are flexing like Hercules. Don't know if it works or if it is complete bunk. ------------------

Curious & Dylan: I've tried this exercise before and still use it, it gives you a great contraction as long as you don't go real heavy with it, it is tough to maitain good form when using too much weight. Thanks bros for your replies, I kind of figured genetics was the key factor, but I appreciate your input, I will just keep pounding the iron and keep my fingers crossed, and be jealous of all the bros out there with the "MOUNTAINOUS PEAKS" ------------------
