Hey guys, about the past month or so I've been getting really bad cramps in the muscles in my shin when I walk somewhat long distances. I've been on 400mg of deca for the past past 4 weeks. Would this have anythig to do with it? I've never had this problem before, and it doesn't seem to want to go away. I'm thinking about going to see a doctor, but before I go I want to know if it has anything to do with the deca.

Muscle cramps usually indicate a lack of potassium in your diet. Take some potassium vitamins and possibly magnesium. That might help out.

Muscle craps are a sign of potassium deficiency, but I dont believe thisis the case for you. It isnt actually a cramp, its what runners refer to as "shin splints". Some people get it due to an imbalance in the lower leg muscles. Their calves overpower the muscle on the front of the shin and cause this "cramping". Make sure to get the full stretch DOWN on calf raises, not just flat on the ground and up. You could also do reverse calf raises to further build the area. Also, stretching the muscles before walking or anything can help...

This is sometimes associated with Deca. Can't explain why.

Winstrol does it also. I like to think of this pain as "GROWTH". When I run or after a calf workout my calfs and chins(especially) are burning like hell. But I love that feeling.

I might have an answer for ya on this one. Since you said the pain/cramping you descibe is coming along after walking a distance while geared on deca these are your choices.
1) begining phase of shin splints
2) Anterior compartment syndrome symptoms.

I would have to assume its the second choice. Anterior Compartment syndrome is when too much blood enters the muscle and can't get out fast enough. It begins to stretch the fascia the surrounds the muscle and builds up huge amounts of pressure. This pressure usually impinges nerves and causes numbness in the web space between the 1st & 2nd toe. Next time this happens take your shoe off and test the area for parathesia and see. I believe this happens due to the increase in blood cells...which usually equalls a better pump to an area being worked. If it is ACS, then it will progressively get worse till you get off the deca.A physician is only going to help you in the most severe of cases. Look at the flexibility of the ankle and stretch the calves both with the knee straight--(stretch off the edge of a step) and stretch the calf with the knee bent. also look at the the flexibilty of the foot in dorsal flexion(pointing toes downward). One other thing you might try is shoe inserts to correct any possible alignment problems with the ankle itself.

It sounds similiar to what I get on Omnadren, when I walk on the treadmill or to cut the lawn, the muscles on the front of my shins get so pumped its rediculous. They burn to, like lactic acid burn. Goes away after the cycle though, I posted about this about a month ago and alot of guys confirmed it happening to them so it must be normal. Could be do to the normal circulation problems associated with gear.

I was on T200 and 400mg of Nor200 and some Rev-B and had the same problem. I couldn't run and it HURT BAD. I've never had that problem of felt that pain in that area (shin)
Only good thing is it went away completlly after cycle. I couldn't even play basketball...hurt way to bad. But, it goes away.
I just started my 2nd cycle yesterday....so can't wait to feel that pain in my shin again.

Thanks,
Chris
