Ok, heres the deal... after years of using, Ive never had a problem. Call it luck or whatever. Well, I did 3cc's in each delt wednesday, 2cc sust, 1cc prop. Ive done volume shots in my delts before, its not a problem, Ive got plenty of mass to absorb it. So everything is as it usually is, I use like 1" inch pins (x24g), and push it in there, aspirate and go, sometimes I push a little quick, but whatever. Well, post shot, I'll have a lump (its very obviously IN the muscle, from the volume of the injection), so its business as usual. BUT! The left lump hasnt went down. The right is still there, but smaller, the left is still fairly large. Its not painful or anything, and im hoping its just irritated from the prop. (Ive never shot prop into my delts) Im just concerned about an abcess or infection. I have tetracycline, and could probobly get hooked up woth any oral antibiotic I need, but Im wondering if any of you guys have had lumps post injection, and what you did. Im not too worried, its not painful or red or anyhting, its just "there". Hmm, hope you guys can shed some light on this. (On the plus side, it looks incredible!, adds this freaky look to my delts... so I guess theres a silver lining) ------------------     | ||

I freaked out last month when the same thing happened with my glute. I had a hard lump just under the skin, it took 1 week to go away. If it doesn't go away within a week you might want to see an MD. Sometimes mixing certian drugs together seems to cause the lump, especially if the oil seeps out of the core of the muscle and closer to the skin, this happens often when there is a magnitude of scar tissues and small canals. | ||

Ouch, monster 3cc's in the delt, they must be cannonballs. Your deltoid is just responding to the shot, it was obvioulsy well adiministered. I have only seen the dreaded abcess when the shot went subq by accident. ------------------  | ||

Hey Monster, Is it on the side you did the sos250(500) on? As you problably know sos can sometimes leave a red irritated bump under the skin. It will have fever(heat) around the bump and also be SORE AS HELL. It is pretty normal with sos shots. sometime people do not go deep enough and it gets between the skin and muscle, but that does not seem like your problem. Sounds to me just like a typical sos lump. Either put a heat pad on it a few times a day and rub it several times a day to try to disipate the oil build up. It should go away all to gether in about 3-5 days. I used to not be able to sit down after a sos shot so I started shooting the triceps when using sos. The 24guage and speed of inject is surely not your problem. I use 1 1/2in 23gauge and sometimes 22in the winter so the oil will go in quicker. you could not push the 24g fast enough and hard enough to cause any problems. If you did the need would detatch from the syringe and oil would squirt eveywhere, but in your should.

Y'know, I was just holding a wet, hot wash cloth on it while I took a shit, and it has subsided some. Ive went as high as 4cc's per delt on many occasions, but this is the first time Ive had prop thrown in. I was guessing it was just an injection lump (hopeing, too). It definatly went i the muscle, and the lump is most definatly in the muscle too! Thanks for the help,bros! I'll be doing shoulders tommorrow, and we'll see how it feels after that. Go to a pharmacy and buy a hot pack that is microwaveable. It's great for when you're sitting in front of the computer. Also massage the site! | ||

The thing that is freaking me out the most is that the major swelling didnt happen till 3 days after the injection. It was "hard" after from the volume added to the muscle. But it took a few days to swell up. The swelling seems to be in a larger area than the injection site, so Im starting to thik something is wrong. I may start antibiotics up... crap. | ||

I would give it a few more days. If the swelling does not go down go and see a doctor. | ||

Really, I appreciate the doctor advice, but I probobly wont unless it gets worse. I dont feel its abcessed, so it shouldnt need to be drained. I have antibiotics and can hopefully treat the infection myself. I do it all the time with ear infections Im prone to, so I'll try and do it myself before I open up that doctor can of worms... | ||

The heating pad IS taking the swelling down, but I took a gram of tetracycine anyway, as a precaution. Tommorrows shoulder workout will be kind of a test, I'll have to see how it goes... HEy, if anyone else has injection swelling stories to share, please do! Id still like to hear other peoples stories and how they may have had the same thing happen... | ||

Bro, I hate to sound redundant but I had the same thing happen to me on a glute shot. The heat thing helped, but it took a full week for the swelling to go down. It sucks because all week I was thinking abcess, but it did get better. My only question is 4cc in one shoulder? Just how big are your shoulders, I feel funny about doing that much in the glutes!!!! LOL!!!! | ||

Yoda: dont feel like your being redundant. you guys saying that its happened to yu is all that keeps me from panicing.All these fucking years, and no problems... I got spoiled!  Ive got the mass for 4cc, I suspect I may have went in at too much of an angle for 4cc and a 1" pin. Its all in the muscle, but I think it may not be real deep, and its irritating. Im keeping on the antobiotics for a few days though as a precaution... | ||

i once had a lump after injecting 3 cc's of IP deca into my glute....it looked like shit for 2 weeks but eventually went down. it did have me freaking out for those 2 weeks though! ------------------ | ||

It happened to me on the last cycle. My left cheek swelled up and wouldn't go down. By the end of the week I went to the doctor to get reminded that he is an IDIOT. If it had been an abcess I probably would have bought the farm. As for that Synthol stuff it's more trouble than it's worth.Look at Sarcev's 'accident' a couple months back. |
