If you get a PO box, you are required to give all kinds of information. (i.e. name, address, Driver's license #, etc.) So, why is it a better option than having it sent to your house? Do you use a fake name and info? What's the deal? ...bd

Always have it sent to "box holder" instead of your name. Never had a problem yet.

I thought MBE required two sets of photo ID, a credit card, and all kinds of other securities. Am I wrong? DropSet ------------------

You need two forms of ID for MBE, and at least one form for the PO, maybe if you have friends that work there you can get by, but at least in CA you need 2 forms (I am sure it is like this everywhere in the US) At least the you are SUPPOSED to have 2 forms, they are to keep records on file, in case anythign happens - I am sure there are some places somewhere where the operators just dont care to hastle you if you dont, but I have not found one. the post office doesnt have any problems if you just get it sent under "boxholder" ? cause if it was sent that way you could still deny it being for you even though th po box is in your name, am i following this right??????????? cause ive been thinking of getting a po box--------yall bros let me know! im@LRG

I have heard many people do this without problems, although I wouldnt be suprised if theya re not suppose to let it through unless its the name on the current box holder, but damn I get mail for the previous box holders name on it all the time. Slopain

My call on this, bro: Using the words of a bro who stated recently, related to this issue: "Strap on a pair..." Use your real name (or another real person's name) and physical address. And be prepared to sign, especially if the package is international. And, most likely, nobody will ask for your ID -- they just want to satisfy a bureaucratic/ administrative issue. In other words, to get some freaking signature. Please email me if you have any questions. I'm practically -- but not...quite yet -- so fucking sick of this whole P.O. box/signing issue that I could puke. The level of paranoia is, again in my opinion, extreme (and paranoia is an extreme mental diagnosis), and fueled by those very, very few -- almost isolated cases -- of people being burned. And by one or two lawyers. (It's a living...) The probability of being set up or having a so-called "controlled delivery" is in my opinion so small as to not warrant serious consideration. A seizure notice? Maybe. And that's it, other than a particular person and an address possiblly being entered into customs' computer as a "flag." You would have a better chance winning the grand prize of the state lottery than being shaken down. Dexter ------------------ |
