I have been on insulin for about a week now. 10iu in the morning on non-workout days and another 10iu after I workout. Since yesterday I have been feeling hypoglycemic for the entire day no matter how much I eat.......any advice? Peace DrZ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

What type of insulin or you using? If it is Humulin R it is only active for like 6-8hrs max. I take my 'slin with enough carbs 12iu =120g carbs and 60g protein and I don't get anything after that... No hypo! I know because one day I had my 'slin and took my shake.. then didnt' eat for like 4-5 hours because I was late for work. I did have lots of food on hand if ever something went down. thats 20 IUs a day, which is not a small quantity by any means when it comes to insulin. I would say back down to 8 IUs each shot. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

I am taking Humulin R. Maybe I'll try 6iu on non-workout days and in the morning before my workout, then 10iu after I workout. I tell this, I am a 24 hour pump and have put on some size in just a week...Sling is great! Thanks guys Peace DrZ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

I agree w/Clemdog on this. I would drop further than just 4IU. Say 6 in am and 6 post workout. If you feel fine you can always push it up an IU at a time. My tolerance is about 14IU/day. I found that by building up slowly. 12IU/day is perfect for me. ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

I didnt even get no pump until I got to 10 iu. Now at 12iu it's good. I may try 13iu and see if I tolerate it and if the results are better... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

dr.z im not quite sure i understand your post you said "10iu in the morning on non workout days and anouther 10iu after i workout". do you only take 10iu a day or do you take it in the morning and after your workout? if 10iu is making you hypoglycemic all day you might have been hypo even before.if not you probably are not taking inenough carbs. when i take my insulin 16iu a day.8iu in the morning 8iu post workout or some times during workout if am at my friends gym.i make sure i have a liter of ultra fuel with me.make sure you go to a doctor to test your sugar levels you might be at risk for diabetes. peace bro...hope that helps some... s()(...)/''..)e/''k ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
