I hurt my elbow area one time doing incline dumbell presses. Anyway, the pain got worse and worse, and finally I asked a well-known doctor in my gym what I should do, (legally) and he gave me the advice of taking between 800-1000mg before I came in to do my workout. I though that seemed quite excessive, and he told me, from his knowledge, which apparently is alot, said that it really wasn't that much. When I did what he said, it helped me tremondously. TWINLABS Joint pain formula works really good, too. (with the glucosamine in it) Good Luck...

I get back pain from time to time and my doc usually gives me Naproxen(BTW, it is not OTC but docs prescribe it alot). It is even mentioned in the elite fitness steroid guides so apparently it is used commonly among athletes. But keep in mind that it is only good if your problem is related to muscle inflamation because it is anti inflamatory. If it is joint relted, then go see a doc. Other than Naproxen, I use Aleeve quite a bit as it seems to be the only thing that works good for back pain. [This message has been edited by Maverik (edited September 01, 2000).]
