Guys I work a contract for Interland.Com the largest webhosting, Internet company in the world. After reading this, I looked up their (anabolics.com) I.P address and it had been flagged for a couple of months. Who knows where all the info and talks were being filtered to? So has SteroidWorld.com Then again this is not a common practice. There are cyber cops out there as we employ a few ourselves at our company, but their focus is usually limited to corporate info raiding and fraud. Where money is lost. Now if these busted members were dealing and it was something like from an international source, then possibly they could have found their attention turned here. But for the most part, why bother with some small time end users who more than likely do not have prior convictions and will just make bail later that day. What a waste of time. I think it is safe as long as you know and trust your source.

I have gotten a ton of emails asking about this. Just to clear up the air about this. Sites can be flagged for any number of reasons, most legal. There are two ways sites are flagged, the first is by a pocket on the firewall, everything coming in to the
site is recorded. Another way is to just do a complete I.P. dump into a batch file and read everything at a leisure. To do this, all one needs is access to the website. In the case of elite fitness, just a username to be able to post messages, that
gives you access to the database. If it is a pay site, then just pay the fee and get the password and dump everything at once. It is very common for many people, including companies to do this. for instance, if pepsi cola develops a website and has users to fill out a questionaire or something and Coca-cola wants to find out what users comments are, they just hit the
I.P. address and replicate the site up to that moment in time. Then it is just a matter of sitting down and reading it. Think of it like this, before you registered at Elite fitness, you could still read the
messages right? You just couldn't post any. so the encryption is not going to protect you until you get into a one on one situation. Of course if you start downloading pix or files from any website you set yourself to have an open pipeline for anyone who may want to glance at your harddrive and data. When I heard about Anabolics.com and looked red flags immediately went off because one of the I.P. addy's that did a "dump" on it was Boston Garden Association. WTF??? Winny helps roses grow better? Come on you really didn't think it would say DEA Inc. did you?

Now you know how sites are flagged, but do you know the reason they are flagged? Internet crime is growing, but granted, cyber cops are like most people and only work 8 or 10 hours per day. Do you think they want to be chasing a 14 year old kid in Iowa over 3 bottles of Sustanon? Come on. You have to realize that until a complaint is generated, there are only two types of internet exchanges that are automatically monitored. #1 Result producing transactions to foreign countries (example = wire transfers) and #2 Hits on sensitive sites like KGB.com, Pentagon Salary Payroll (you get the idea) But one thing for sure, these are not published or public sites, and if you ever get the I.P. addy to one, chances are they already know about your ass by then. They just don't allow that info to walk around.

Now about internet busts. You have to realize that for most people on this board and other boards, the feds don't want to waste time catching small frys. A scenario of how the internet would play a role in a bust would be as follows:

Joe Blow lives in Europe and for the past six months he has been supplying American juicers with products. (We love ya, Joe) Now if Joe was just an average guy, the U.S. would turn the matter over to the other countries jurisdiction. But no... Joe works for company ABC, which offering the same products that America has, but at a cheaper cost. (They don't have FDA regulation) It now becomes more than just a juice/drug head matter. It is cutting into the economic side of American companies. Remember America is built upon the dollar. So they are going to make an example out of Joe and his company. Never mind the fact, they could tell company ABC and let them fire Joe, no, they want something bigger. A couple of million dollar fine perhaps. So this is what they do. Since they can't just walk over to Europe and bust Joe, they do this. They turn to the internet and use some dummy posting his name and address to get physical evidence against Joe. Just can't convict him on a paper stack of emails alone. So until the goods come in and get caught (i.e. Mail Fraud, etc...) the internet plays no part in the bust. Only supplying info on where to look for a bust.

Which brings us to another topic: source posting. People who come on here and in their second posting are openly asking for the hook up are a big clue here dudes. And, forgive me for wanting to take the bro out back and beat him who replies right below that with "shoot me an email and I will help you." Guys these newbies are going to be the death of us all if we are not careful. The last thing we need is an uninformed, uneducated juicehead walking around with our source on the tip of his tongue. Come on guys, when they ask that send them to www.gnc.com or better yet, say nothing. The quietness will discourage them and they will leave the board. Which is a win-win situation for all. If they are serious, they will sit around for a couple of weeks and read and use the search. I mean someone running to this board looking for a quick fix and hook up, isn't exactly the type of person who needs to be using A.S. Sometimes the best "help" you can give is no help at all.

And speaking directly about sources themselves. If you have a great source, you know he is worth his weight in gold. No good source is not going to post an ad looking for business. Because of two reasons, #1 if his product is of good quality and he has been around, it will sell itself. #2 a good source that wishes to remain out of trouble (read: jail, assbeatings, etc..) will control his customers. By control I mean, he will know who he is dealing with if only by email handles and he will have trust built up. Anyone sending out gear to everyone who writes him is asking for trouble. AND a source who is honest would never fall into the problem of having his business demand outgrow his product supply. No one wants more business than they can handle. No matter what you think guys, your source is not someone sitting around like Santa Claus with elfs making these love potions in the workshop. Nor does he have the guest bedroom stocked to the ceiling with goods. Sorry it doesn't work that way. The only one who freely advertises and wants more business than they can handle is a possible scammer or worse, DEA Agent. So remember that the next time you refer 7 guys to your favorite source in one week.

im curious jae....you seem to know much in the way of computers and such. my question is this...im running a firewall and all my ports are stealthed....my puter doesnt respond to icmp unreacheables, echos, pings, dns....etc. what level of protection does that offer me looking at the hypothetical situations you described...
