No, I was not only overweight as a child, but "blessed" not, with linear calves. My initial exploits to produce a measure of growth failed because I was training them wrong. I wasnt responding to high repititions, which was suggested to me by a man with a 16 inch diameter knee complimented by 22 inch calves. So, of course im going to listen.
My particulars required intense heavy resistance for 8-10 reps. I meerly needed to train heavy to make my calves respond. Now, my calves formerly 14" are 18".
Calve training regardless of the individuals chosen means will require one common denominator. INTENSE MOTHERFUCKING TRAINING TO ABSOLUTE ACHING FAILURE. Unless, your a freak blessed with them .

I have small calves, 16 inches. If I stay on top they get to 17 inches. I hope to break 18 by next Jan.

Try this, one set of 100, then start adding the weight and go heavy for 8-10 reps for at least 5 sets, (standing), then do donkeys. Don't forget to completely flex the calf. It'll hurt, it'll cramp, but try it.
