When I feel myself getting tired or stagnant in the gym,the following week,I will work out only M,W,F and on those days I will only Squat Mon., Bench Wed., Then Deadlift Fri., take the weekend off then start annihilating myself again come Mon. It works awesome and also refreshes you mentally.Anyone else ever tried this? How did you like it? ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I never tried that...but it seems like too much rest inbetween....I need to feel the pump everyday...And as far as having the weekend off....What the Hell is that about....I could see if you pulled a muscle or something but to voluntary take the weekend off!!!!NO WAY....I guess it depends on where you are at in your life. But I think that more serious lifters would agree with me that the weekend off is a no-no. Not a flame...just my thoughts... Chef ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I train instinctively, that means, if I start to feel run down or non-motivated, I will take the day off, sometimes two and sometimes two weeks. Overtraining is probably one of the best deterrents against sucess in bb. People feel like they will shrink to nothing if they take even 1 day off, the end result is they end up hurting themselves more by impeding progress than they do to help it. Let your body and mind tell you what is right. There is no way in hell you will lose anything but a little pump and strength by taking two weeks off. I took a month off earlier this summer and when I returned I could still bench 315 for five. Rest is more important than lifting just as eating is more important. Think of resting not only as sleeping, but doing other things as well, such as exercising your mind, going hiking or camping. Even going out on a date and not discuss bb at all, but concetrate on the lady. In a nutshell, without rest we will wither and die in the gym. chesty ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

http://www.cyberpump.com has been a great site devoted to HIT since '96 if you're interested. They really cover over-training better than anyone. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
