Has anyone tried using retin-a to treat or dull stretchmarks.. how did it work? How long did results take and how good were the results..     | ||

it works great and completely removes the mark, but takes a few months unless you let the sun hit the treated area and then those marks disapear quickly. on the next stretch mark i get im going to do an experiment with a anti-fungal medication that is used to treat athletes foot, my doc said that stuff is liquid and you just use a q-tip to apply it and it will soak into the skin and cause the affected area to peal off. and the pealing is supposed to occur 4-5 days after the first application, and its not a gradual process like the retin a, this stuff makes it all come off at once. mike | ||

no it didn't work like that for me i used it for 6 months scars are still there all it did was fade the red out ...surgery is the only way. | ||

I�ve heard that Vitamin E creme if available works pretty good, if you can't get the creme, then the Vitamin E capsules work as good. Just break open the capsule and apply to the affected area. | ||

Probably the cheapest way to prevent them from forming is zinc supps. Higher zinc levels keep the skin more elastic, and stretch marks are a tear in the dermal layer. | ||

There is something that works GREAT! I forget what it is though. Don't laugh but my sister used it when she was pregnant and she got no stretch marks! (Except she forgot to use it for a couple days and she got a couple). I will find out what the heck the stuff was. I think she got it at the Body Shop (I think this is Canadian only?) Cheers, | ||
