We said that fructose has a low GI (32). So it' s not good to eat after an intense workout to resotre glycogen right? Should we use white sugar? What do you guys use and what do you think about this. ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

you could try insulin and simple carbs , try Karo light syrup , it is C6H12O6 or Glucose. As for the GI in general there are some many variables that effect that index , it would be a full time job trying to figure out one days meals . ( even the volume of h20 you consume will effect the total Gi value of a meal ) . So fructose may be low GI in the whole fruit for example , but when you break it down mechanically ( apple sauce vs. apples , or orange juice vs orange ) the values change dramatically . So to recharge i just eat alot . My general diet is low in simple sugars , but after a work out i do intake simple sugars as a rule . ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

There is a small window of time post workout to get sugars pushed back into the muscle. Although your body will actually crave carbs for a good 6-7 hours post, consuming simple sugars directly after your workout will help in supressing cortisol production, increasing insulin activity and protein synthesis, so take the carbs and protein together. WHAT I HAVE BEEN DOING IS DRINKING A DRINK FROM THE GYM, I HAVE ON THAT I LIKE THAT HAS HIGH CARBS AND A GOOD AMOUNT OF PROTIEN, I MIX GLUTAMINE AND CREATINE IT IT AND DRINK IT RIGHT AFTER MY WORKOUT (WITHIN FIVE MINS). ITS CALLED MASS RECOVERY, BY AMERICAN BODYBUILDNG. SOMETIMES I WILL EAT A FEW EXTRA CARBS WITH IT TOO BUT I MAKE SURE THEY ARE SIMPLE CARBS. I WAIT AND HOUR THEN SLAM DOWN ANOTHER WHEY PROTIEN DRINK. THEN I WAIT ANTIOHER HOUR AND HAVE A MEAL. THEN I MIGHT HAVE ONE MORE DRINK BEFORE I GO TO BED IF I DON'T FALL ASLEEP FIRST. THATS JUST HOW I DO IT. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||
