First of all, I apologize for starting this "chat-like" thread and stealin' bandwidth from the valuable exchange of info. that this board is all about...but I have to know y'all's opinion. Why does society hate any substance proven to have anabolic effects? Here's some theories I have come up with: 1. Muscles are frivolous, therefore, any increased risk at all to acquire them should be unacceptable. 2. Muscles represent primitive maleness, and send the wrong message in a civilized society. Any effort to acquire them, reveals a desire to circumvent the established system of power. This is especially true now that the "weaker sex" is integrated into coporate management. 3. They give an unfair advantage in sports and because of the additional risks involved with anabolic substances all cannot be expected to partake at the same levels. In other words, no one wants steroid abuse to be the price of entry into professional sports. Any others???? Also, the other day I realized that pro bodybuilders are regularly disqualified for diuretics. This is openly reported and commented on without shame, yet discussion of AS is taboo. Compare the relative safety of AS and diuretics. Why is it okay to admit to diuretic use? Please, I want to know what everyone thinks. zeke b     | ||

man f*ck what society thinks or say they think, the truth is, girls love muscle, as much as they denie it, and i love having muscle cause i feel like a champ, i dont get intimidated by others and can keep my chin up high in any sercumstance, as for AS there a tool, i dont think there bad. i just think the gov made them out to be so bad because its medicine and they wana scare people, so they dont use it. its just scaring you, i used to read shit in my school gym on how if u do roids even once ull get all these crazy side-effects, and most of use know if ur smart aobut it ur luck to get a little achne. Roids rule and so Does muscle. | ||

Yeah Omega. I like how you think!! I thought of another reason. 4. FDA has mandate to control all drugs. By definition, anything with a significant anabolic effect is a drug and therefore, should be controlled. Given high incidence of unsanctioned usage, AS deserve special attention (eg demonization) from society. zeke b | ||

Also in a deeper point, the gov doesnt want to be such a gap between people, they dont wana have a superior form of humans, and people on roids are superioir BY FAR, and the people that choice not to take them, cry about how injust it is, and they spoil it for the rest of use. Man the laws are so dumb, i wish they educated me about roids, because the first time i ever did one cycle i fucked up so bad it wasnt even funny, i payed 4x the regular price and ended up using insulen needles. (i know pathetic) maybe instead of scaring the society they should educate. And its funny as , how exeptible roids were and how they were praised but as soon as they became outlawed, every1 turned their back on AS and the people that used them. | ||

"Roid Delusions" are pepetuated by viewer point margins for sensationalistic media. Ok I can put my dictionary down now. The media is our info line here in America and unfortunately the majority of people are too naive to read around the issues presented to them. People tend to rely on being force fed info from the tube rather than developing personal focuses and then carefully researching them. Fortunately we here on this board know the values of carefully done research and the help it gives to reaching our goals. The "Roid Delusion" is more prevalent here in the US than most other countries. The media is to blame for most of this. You can bet there arent the same myths being ground in over and over like here in the US. Ive spent a lot of time in Europe in Germany, France and Greece and I can tell you that people are not as aware of what AS are and if they do they usually dont have much of any opinion or bias. LACK OF TRUE KNOWLEDGE AND IGNORANCE IS EVIL. | ||

This is a joke. This country is so damn backwards it makes me sick, the gov says its ok to sell food thats 50% fat to people, and of course its ok to sell ciggs to people... You know why? Now for the media.... haha, I majored in journalism in college, what gets more attention A)A steroid user went into a house and saved a little girl from a fire? or B) A crazed man who was on several Steroids attacked several men in a bar in downtown_____. I have to say that society does not want to tolerate a superior being. Why do you think we do not allow are citizens to go to college with enormous school loans. Why do you think the more successful you become, the more penalized you are through the use of taxes. Steroids are no different. The gov't and society does not believe we ahve the ability to think for ourselves, make our own choices. And since we chose to better ourselves physically, (which, by the way has been shown to increase your mental ability as well) we are labeled heritics, blasphemer's and so forth. The Goverment has alot of control over what society thinks about anything. If they publish some report about how steroids kill you and are an extremely dangerous drug, and just as dangerous as crack cocaine, then society will believe them. But does anybody ever do any research to find out how the study was conducted? No. More then likely the study was done very poorly by either using large quantities of very harsh drugs (like in the "Steroids kill Rats" thread a while back) or by purposely exxagerating the effects of the drugs. Not everyone is very intelligent in this world and too many people believe things with a blind and ignorant faith simply because they are either jealous or are simply too lazy too find out anything for themselves. The reason they are illegal is because the government wants us to be easier to control. If we are all big enough to whip their policemen's asses then they will look silly. Hence they want us week. I think the government started andro. They are saying they are going to ban it just cause they want us to think it's worth a shit. They won't ban it, they will just say they will. Then everyone will use it thinking it works like steroids when it doesn't. Then emphasis is taken off of roids which actually do work. Mark McGuire is actually a federal agent who they pumped full of juice and then handed him a bottle of andro to put in his locker to start the whole craze. It's a conspiracy I'm telling you. First take a look at whom proposed to ban steroids: Government workers: They`re supposed to be OUR EMPLOYEES, we pay their salaries with our taxes, and we hire �m with our vote. This should make you think. One of my family doctor's (a young man, about my age) asked me what I did for a living, I said I am an aerospace engineer. I then told him I could never be a doctor the schooling is way too hard. He told I was nuts. He said the only reason a lot of people become doctors is because engineering is to tough. We have too much math, too much science, etc. Basically he was telling me that he was stupid and got a degree that makes him money without thinking. It really disturbs me to know that doctor's get a license to "practice" medicine. I don't want someone practicing on me, I want them to know what the hell they are doing. So, when the gov't says it is bad for health the doctor's all chime in because they are freakin retards who don't want to work. Not all doc's just most. chesty ------------------ | ||

Way too many conspiracy theories around here. It's not that complicated. AS can fuck you up if not used correctly. All of us have known someone or someones who just went crazy, gained 100 pounds, zits everywhere, lost there hair, spit up blood and lost it one way or another. Cigarettes can fuck you up, too, but it's extremely subtle and to our credit, we're getting rid of cigarettes. Out in the west you can't smoke anywhere and a pack costs $4. AS is just not understood, but you will see this change very soon because all of the baby-boomers are getting old and they don't want to. In my opinion AS is the fountain of youth, IF NOT ABUSED. | ||

I totally agree guitarzan. I predict we will eventually see more and more physicians prescribing AS as part of a "stay young" regimen and I think society will accept that. What they will NEVER accept is AS usage for giant vein-popping muscles....but that's okay...we can't be the norm and freaks at the same time. For some reason in America, affluent men jog and blue collar men pump iron. Last time I checked, most doctors fall in the former. Even if they realize that the risks aren't so bad, they will tell you it's not worth it. If you walk in with cancer, they will tell you chemo is worth it. If you walk in with high cholesterol, they will tell you that liver destroying drugs are worth it. Unless the doctor is a bb, he won't understand the concept of AS usage. zeke_b | ||

The public in general will never see AS as a good product because of all the bad publicity it has gotten over the years. The Government banned it from sale in most countries years ago before they knew all the good things and the bad that they can do. If used incorrectly, AS can be very harmfull, as with any drug. Try downing a bottle of Extra Strength Tylenol. Bad news. The public has not been a group that has been interested in body building, but now that the Gen-X is coming into power more and more, the more of us are learning all we can about the things Baby Boomers have told us are evil. When there are enough of a demand for AS in north america, the new, younger government will see that they can sell these products with a HUGE amount of taxes, and all will be well with the world.

I just thought you might like to know that when your congress made its knee jerk reaction and scheduled AS, the original documents presented to the congress described the banning of "ANTIBIOTIC STEROIDS"....lmao. Roid usage is not as high in other counties where its legal compared to the US where its illegal. I think when they made gear the forbidden fruit it just made us evil Americans want it more. | ||

The higher roid use in the US is cultural, I think, and has nothin' to do with legality. Americans watch Pro Football and WWF rasslin'. Euro-dorks watch soccer and bike racing. I find it funny how AS in banned. Have you seen some of the sides for these new allergy drugs? and headache drugs? the side effects are like 20 seconds long at the end of the tv ads. Some even causing severe heart problems and death. The FDA is fucked up if you ask me | ||

Listen the reason roids are illegal goes back to ww2, the whole nazi belief of a suprior race. we thought that was evil, so they also think the stuff that makes u superior is evil too. i say a program showing how a genticly engineered rat grew 4 times larger then normal rats. Thats the next stage of muscle building. in ratio to humans, if u where to grow only 6'0 u would be 10'0 if u weighed only 200pounds u would weigh 800pounds. this they did to rats, and can do to humans. just imagine AS are yesterdays news, the gov is going to have to worry about 10foot 800pound gaints running around now. Gov wont win, either because its incapible or just gave up. | ||
