hey guys I know we all face this problem once in awhile, but I got it bad...I cannot seem to find the motivation or energy to goto the gym or even eat right...I'm starting a cycle again in a week, and wanna know what gets you guys up for a workout? I need so motivation...I have tried weeks off and only working out three times a week, just need a little motivation...I found myself asking why do I do it in the middle of my last workout? anyone else the same? is it the time of year or waht? ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

I get like that sometimes. I usually, look in the mirror(sp) and tell myself i look like shit, and i'm fat and small. Or i just think that someone right now is training to be bigger than me or eating healthier(sp) to add more quality mass than me. Or i tell meself that summer is around the corner(even if its not) just to motivate myself. thats if i dont' have a workout partner, but a workout partner can help motivate you too. but thats what i usally do. I was just there my man. Went out, got some ice cream, Hadn't cheated in 8 months prior to that. Following my ice cream fest I took a week off. Bear in mind I was down to my last nerve before I did this. I just finished Cutting for eight weeks on a low carb diet. I was nothing but stress. I just treated myself and got some rest. I am back in the gym tomorow(for bulking) and I can't wait. I am so excited to get back to lifting and more importantly growing. It's all in the mind bro. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

I was getting tired of seeing my friends go out and party while I went home every night of the week(except for saturdays). I thought to myself, "shit, I am in college, there are some hot ass bitches at those parties." so I took my first week off of the year and partied and got some ass, college is gonna be good. First week, first fuck of the somester, hell yeah, got a new car too, well it's new to me but it's a '97 Pontiac Grand Am Gt 2 door, sweet as hell. I get that problem from time to time, and I find that the only cure is to take a break from the gym entirely. I don't even think about heading over there while I enjoy all the things I normally like to do but don't have time for because I'm at the gym. Last time, I took a few really long hikes and vegge'd out in front of the computer. Worked like a champ. I hit my first leg workout in nearly three weeks and squated a new personal record. Columbo: For me the answer is working out more often. I lift six days per week. Seems easier to stay in a groove that way, and if you split your routines right, you won't "overtrain." I've been in that kind of groove for over four years now, have had very little problem with motivation, certainly not the kind you're going through. Lots of the bros here are giving you some nice ideas. Superdave's response is my choice for the best advice yet (!!!). Bjaarki

Everybody goes through this, maybe not at the level you are but certainly to some extent. Your the only one who can answer the "why you do it" question, and until you do your probably going to feel like this alot. My suggestion is to take another week off and get some perspective, then start your cycle refreshed and things will probably be better for you. If you take this attitude into a cycle your not going to be happy with the results, your setting yourself up for a let down. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
