[I thought steroids were supposed to do that, according to the medical community.]

I just saw on the news last night a billboard that says milk is bad for you, it causes prostrate cancer.

Can you believe it, one of bb best foods is has now turned deadly.

These animal activists are really getting to be a nusance.

Yeah ... animal right activist ... PHEW

I think it's a good time for a quote by Denis Leary:

"I gonna open up my own place. Open my own restaurant and get away from you people. I gonna open up a restaurant with two smoking sections; Ultra and Regular, ok? And we're not gonna have any tables or any chairs or any napkins. None of that pussy shit. Just a big wide open black space. And all we're gonna serve is raw meat, right on the bone! And only men are going to eat there, naked men, sitting around a big giant camp fire, and no men's room either. You have to piss, you mark your territory like a wolf! And if some guy has a heart attack from eating too much meat, fuck him, we throw him in the fire! More meat for the other meat-eaters! Yeah!"

Amen!

Hmmm I actually found a better suiting quote about animal activists, still be Leary:

"Red meat, white meat, blue meat, meat-o-fucking-rama. You will eat it. Because not eating meat is a decision. Eating meat is an instinct! Yeah! And I know what it's about.

"I don't want to eat the meat because I love the animals. I love the animals."

Hey, I love the animals too. I love my doggy. He's so cute. My fluffy little dog.. He's so cute- There's the problem. We only want to save the cute animals, don't we? Yeah. Why don't we just have animal auditions. Line 'em up one by one and interview them individually.

"What are you?"

"I'm an otter."

"And what do you do?"

"I swim around on my back and do cute little human things with my hands."

"You're free to go."

"And what are you?"

"I'm a cow."

"Get in the fucking truck, ok pal!"

"But I'm an animal."

"You're a baseball glove! Get on that truck!"

"I'm an animal, I have rights!"

"Yeah, here's yer fucking cousin, get on the fucking truck, pal!" "

The latest theory is that it is the depletion of vitamin D from excess calcium that causes it. Studies have shown that calcium , while reducing the risk of colon cancer, increases the risk of prostate cancer.

Calcium is way over promoted. Numerous studies show that the countriues with the highest calcium consumption have the highest incidence of bone fractures. One study specifically on milk showed people who drank the most milk had the most bone fractures.

I don't think it is animal activists that are creating this debate over milk. Animal activists are usually fighting for abused animal rights. I don't think any of them are crazy enough to say that milking an animal is harming it. They are usually fighting against fur coats and crap like that.

I have averaged over 2-3 gal whole milk my entire life, I have only broken a couple of fingers playing street football.

And animal activists do have a hard on for the way milk cows are treated. But hey If I was fed all day long and got sucked off I wouldn't complain.

I didn't even read 2 paragraphs to realize these people are a bunch of illiterate fucks.

Milk cause's steroid rage... and on. They are a bunch of animal activists in my opinion. Loser's

check this out:

By Robert Cohen Executive Director

A NEW AMERICA-THE NOT-SO GREAT SOCIETY

VIOLENCE AND RAGE

Every sip of milk contains 59 different bioactive hormones according to
endocrinologist Clark Grosvenor who published a list of those hormones in
the Journal of Endocrine Reviews, Vol. 14, No. 6, 1992. That same list can
be found on the NOTMILK homepage (http://www.notmilk.com) or on page
238 of MILK - The Deadly Poison. Imagine taking 59 different hormone
pills every morning, afternoon and evening! Start with testosterone, the
hormone responsible for aggressive male behavior. Then add a bit of
adrenaline. Sprinkle in some estrogen and progesterone. Imagine the
devastation that is created in your body by the cumulative effect of taking
those powerful drugs? What is the gross effect on the total behavior of a
society, so dosed? One hundred and seventy-seven pills containing
hypothalamic hormones and gastrointestinal peptides. Growth hormones
and sexual steroids and various pituitary hormones. Aaaaaagggghhh! As
we drink more and more milk and increase the amount of genetically
engineered milk and cheese and ice cream products containing increased
levels of naturally occurring milk hormones, we most certainly have
influenced the way we act as a society.

In May of 1995, a doctor's newsletter written by doctors for doctors listed 11
different symptoms caused by milk and dairy products. The Townsend
Medical Newsletter (page 259 of MILK-The Deadly Poison) included among
those symptoms, irritability, depression and mood swings. Do you want to
have your disposition include irritability, mood swings and depression? Do
you want your children and an entire school of children to suffer such
behavioral changes? Consider what happens to an entire society of which
the average citizen includes milk and dairy products as 40% of his diet.

Every week there seems to be a news story about deviant behaviors exhibited
by the youth of America. One day we watch the gory details of a shooting in
a school by two ten-year-olds and the next day we read about a rape of a
seven-year-old girl by a group of eight-year-old boys. Road rage is a
phenomena that has become a common part of the motoring experience,
and we've all episodes of middle fingers, screaming adversaries, flashing
bright lights at night or cars tailgating or veering just a little too close
cutting us off intentionally. Continue to drink your milk and eat your
cheese and butter and ice cream, which contains a mixed brew of hormones.
These hormones work!

PASTEURIZATION DOES NOT WORK

Previous columns (http://www.notmilk.com/deb/062898.html and
http://www.notmilkd.com/deb/080998.html) document the fact of life
known to our regulators at FDA and USDA: Pasteurization does not work!
Each liter of milk (about a quart) is still permitted to contain 20,000 live
bacterial cells, even after heat treatment. That count includes salmonella
and E. coli and mycobacterium paratuberculosis. Now there is another
bacterial scare among dairy farmers, clostridium. Body fluids from Cows
sometime contain rod-shaped bacteria that form spores (spore is a Greek
word for seed) at the first sign of heat, so that when milk is pasteurized the
bacteria survive and when the milk cools the bacteria re-emerges and
grows. These bacteria locate and find a home in muscle tissue causing
painful lesions in dairy cows. The diaphragm is a favorite "feeding place."
Imagine that twinge in your chest...phantom pain? Your doctor might tell
you that it's all in your head. You continue drinking body fluids from
diseased animals. I find it pathetic to think of our Secretary of the
Department of Health and Human Services posing for a milkstache ad.
Applied to her upper lip is a creamy layer of mucus and pus containing live
bacteria. What a message for Americans! Go to:
http://www.notmilk.com/shame.html to view those ads.

ALPHABETICALS

I am often asked what diseases have been linked to dairy and milk
consumption. While I personally have not conducted the actual research, I
have interviewed doctors and scientists and have gathered hundreds of
journal articles representing hundreds of millions of dollars worth of
research and published in leading medical journals that tell an
overwhelming and sad story. Together, the scientific literature points a
finger supporting the conclusion that milk and dairy products are the major
cause for disease in our society. Milk and dairy products represent nearly
forty percent of what the average American eats, making for a very lopsided
food pyramid (see http://www.notmilk.com/pyramid.html). A review of the
scientific literature reveals publications suggesting that milk components,
including allergenic proteins and milk hormones, are responsible for the
following:

A = Asthma & Allergies (see casein)
B = Breast Cancer (see IGF-1)
C = Constipation (see casein and lactose)
D = Digestive Problems (see buffering effect on acidity)
E = Eczema (see allergenic bovine proteins)
F = Fat people (see powerful growth hormones)
G = Growth (see powerful sexual hormones and early sexual maturity)
H = Heart Disease (see cholesterol and animal fats)
I = Immunodeficiency virus (see components of cow's milk)
J = Juvenile diabetes (see lactalbumin)
K = Killer bacteria (see salmonella & E. coli)
L = Leukemia (see Monsanto's Richard, Odaglia and Deslex study)
M = Mastitis (see blood, pus and bacteria in milk)
N = Nasal Congestion (see mucus from casein)
O = Osteoporosis (see protein inhibits calcium absorption)
P = Pediatric diseases (see allergies to bovine proteins)
Q = Quixote-syndrome (see the notmilkman)
R = Rat cancers and leukemias (see FDA's research)
S = Sudden Infant Death (see bovine proteins; LANCET publications)
T = Tuberculosis (see mycobacterium paratuberculosis)
U = Uterine cancer (see IGF-1)
V = Vitamin deficiency (see artificial milk Vitamin D-3 in not absorbed)
W = Wiscowsinitis (see the dreaded cheesehead-syndrome)
X = Xanthene Oxidase (see Oster & Ross - missing link to heart disease)
Y = Yin/Yang imbalance (see the effect of 59 hormones and 100 allergins)
Z = Zits

This guy is a freak. He says that milk is puss and mucus. He was not breast fed as a child.

You'll find this excerpt entertaining:

contains powerful growth hormones.

Endocrinologist Clark Grosvenor published a review of the known
hormones and growth factors in milk ("Hormones and Growth Factors in
Milk," Endocrine Reviews, volume 14, number 6, 1992). Each sip of cow's
milk includes pituitary, hypothalamic, pancreatic, thyroid, parathyroid,
adrenal, gonadal, and gut hormones. The list does not include other
important milk factors such as prostaglandins and neuropeptides. The milk
in your morning cereal still appears to be white and pure, but what follows is
a list of bioactive substances in milk taken from Table One of Grosvenor's
paper:

PITUITARY HORMONES (PRL, GH, TSH, FSH, LH, ACTH Oxytocin)

STEROID HORMONES (Estradiol, Estriol, Progesterone, Testosterone,
17-Ketosteroids, Corticosterone, Vitamin D)

HYPOTHALAMIC HORMONES (TRH, LHRH, Somatostatin, PRL-
inhibiting factor, PRL- releasing factor, GnRH, GRH)

GASTROINTESTINAL PEPTIDES (Vasoactive intestinal peptide,
Bombesin, Cholecystokinin,Gastrin, Gastrin inhibitory peptide, Pancreatic
peptide,Y peptide, Substance P, Neurotensin)

IGF AND CANCER - THE SCIENCE

Critics of the Dairy Education Board claim that there is NO REAL
SCIENCE behind the IGF-I CANCER CLAIM. The actual science
exploding that contention appears in highly regarded scientific journals
including the American, Japanese, British, European and International
Journals of Cancer. In addition, there are important papers published in the
Journal of Clinical Endocrinology, Journal of Cellular Physiology and
American Journal of Clinical Pathology. The "smoking gun" is an autopsy
study that appeared in the New York Times. That study revealed that
cancers, particularly BREAST CANCERS, are actually quite common and
appear at a SHOCKINGLY young age.

CANCER AND IGF-I

IGF-I has been identified as an autocrine and endocrine growth regulator
that ACCELERATES various types of cancer. IGF-I is considered to play a
key role in the proliferation of pancreatic cancer cells, according to
Gillespie.
(J. Gillespie, et al. "Inhibition of pancreatic cancer cell growth in
vitro by the tyrphostin group of tyrosine kinase inhibitors."
Academic Surgical Unit, St. Mary's Hospital Medical School,
Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London,
UK. Br.-J-Cancer, December, 1993, 68(6), pp. 1122-1126.)

Glick noted that IGFs play a considerable role in the regulation of
glucose metabolism in central nervous system tumors.
(R.P. Glick, et al. "Identification of insulin-like growth factor
(IGF) and glucose transporter-I and -3 mRNA in CNS tumors."
Department of Neurology, University of Illinois at Chicago, Cook
County Hospital. Regul-Pept., October, 20,1993, 48(1-2), pp.
251-256.)

Atiq reported that IGF is associated with human colorectal tumors and
colon cancer growth.
(Atiq, et al. "Alterations in serum levels of insulin-like growth
factors and insulin-like growth-factor-binding proteins in
patients with colorectal cancer." Labor d'Immunologie, Faculte de
Medecin, Marseille, France. Int-J-Cancer, May 15, 1994, 57(4),
pp. 491-497.)

Yashiro found that IGF-I activity was significantly higher in cancer
extracts, suggesting that higher IGF-I activity in cancer tissue is involved in
regulating growth of thyroid cancer cells.
(T. Yashiro, et al. "Increased activity of insulin-like growth
factor-binding protein in human thyroid papillary cancer tissue."
Department of Sirgery, Tsukuba University, Ibaraki, Japan.
Jpn-J-Cancer-Res., January, 1994, 85(1), pp. 46-52.)

This guy and that website are absolutely nauseating.

I don't want to be semantic, but why the fuck do animal extremeist object to us drinking milk? I can see why they would object to us eating animals (cause we gotta kill them), but drinking the milk they produce does't hurt the animal.

I strongly believe that all those guys and gals fighting for animal rights are really doing so because they lack an important orientations, goals or achievements in their life (although we could objectively say the same about us bodybuilders ). It's no secret that to be "happy" or to feel fulfilled a human being must be driven to accomplish something that we perceive to be vital to our well-being. This is called enpowerement ... gaining power and control by attaining a goal that we perceive to be critical.

This is in our gene, it comes from our survival instinct. Now, that was all fine and well when life was actually challenging! You HAD to struggle to live ... thus we had a natural power struggle. However, in today's society life is easy ... you don't need to walk, hunt, fight, think for yourself and in fact survival is now assured (except for the terminaly ill of course), we don't have to struggle to survive.

So, that lack of natural power struggle has lead mankind to find surrogate power struggles. These are "false" objectives (false in the sense that they are perceived as being necessary to our well-being even if they are not) that give the individual a false sense of empowerment.

I don't have a problem with that because it's necessary for most human beings. HOWEVER I find it extremely lame when I see an individual creating a surrogate power struggle for himself that doesn't even contribute to his bettering as a human being. The animal extremist do not better themselves by fighting for the animals. In fact they worsen themselves by oftentimes adopting behaviors that are opposite to the values they supposedly espouse. In fact I'd say that 90% of all animal activists (and most other activist groups too) do not participate to their chosen causes to better life on earth or themselves, but rather to bring attention to themselves. Attention is power. Thus their true power struggle is to bring the spotlight on them.

I have more respect for somebody who has a surrogate power struggle aimed at bettering himself, even if that can make him look selfish, at least it does bring something to someone.

I thing that few will agree that we, bodybuilders, are the personification of self-improvement and because of that we may seem self-absorbed. But that's cool, 'cause at least we ARE making somebody happier and better suited for life on earth.

BTW, yes ... I am sober

i don't agree that milk is THAT bad for you...but i don't believe that it is good.
therefore...i follow arnold's advice:

"milk is for babies. when you grow up, you get to drink beer!"

another quote i like that has merit here:

"if god didn't want us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?"

by the way, chesty....good post, thanks bro
