Provided you consume enough protein in your diet while using gear, How important is it to consume carbohydrates? Could one get by on just eating low-none during a bulking cylce?

in a word no...if your bulking up you need the extra calories...and with little carbs you would then have to drastically increase your protein and fat intake just to get the neccasary calories..plus it's so easy to get calories from carbs I don't see why you would want to cut them out...anytime I go real low carb I feel quite sluggish too

Well the question is how much do you want to grow??? Or, how much protein do you want to go for fuel..and how much to actual muscle regeneration? Carbs increase insulin activity and therefore help to increse protein sythesis in the muscle. In any bulking cycle you would be silly not to run a 4 or 5:1 carb to protein ratio in your diet. Carbs should be the cornerstone of your diet, and let your body use the protein like its supposed to. later, ------------------

The only people who should cut carbs are those getting ready for a serious competition or some new bride who wants to fit in her wedding dress.
