I'm not really a newbie, but I haven't posted under this ID. I stopped posting, due to paranoid panic caused by several seizure notices. I keep waiting for that knock on the door. I purged my hard drive, cleaned up my house, tossing out anything that might have been questionable and secured a safe storage place. I believe I've taken all the proper security steps and I'm now ready to become a contributing member of the community. For those that don't know, everything you do on the Internet is relatively easy to track. I'm using at least one anonymous server from another country. I purge all cookies (damn George uses a lot of cookies), and history files, and I encrypt all my local files. I remember, several years ago, back in the days when there was a link to Hulkster's home page on the Main page, there was more "community" then. Currently, my main concern is about certain legal aspects, specifically, how can I minimize my exposure to those that would want to take my freedom away. I'm older than what I perceive as the average age, and the thought of doing time scares me silly. I'm a professional, have a great job, a wonderful girl friend (14 years younger than me) that I intend to marry. I know that posting tips on hiding places, setting up mail drops and such will give away secrets that could effect us all. I remember the fall out from the infamous Bill Philips "MM2K" articles on overseas pharmacies, (responsible for several seizure notices and much of my paranoia). I'm now very cautious, and prefer to keep a very low profile. Self administered hormone therapy isn't worth incarceration at this point in my life. I would like to exchange ideas. How I can be sure I�m not emailing someone that wants to do me harm?    | ||

csky: I really identify with your message, and may be somewhat like you in terms of background, but I couldn't get the sense of your thread. What is it you're trying to say, or want, man? You bring up some important issues that I planned to raise. First the board itself is very insecure. Anyone who posts a message sends an id and a password (which is not encrypted as it passes to the server) on an insecure connection to the server. This means any posting can be captured and traced to its origin IP address. Not only will the message contain the origin IP address it will bear the username and password when you post. The posting process should switch over to an SSL connection once you click "post". You should be aware of the government's new Carnivore program. Carnivore can intercept messages that are posted looking for certain words that trigger inspection. Quite frankly posting is a very risky business and send email to someone you dont know can be equally hazardous. See: ------------------ | ||

I think you're all a little overly paranoid. Especially about the seizure notices. If they were gonna come get you, you'd have gotten the packages and then a knock on the door, not a notice. Cautious is good, but being paranoid is too much for me. | ||

Dude, you should have used a different name for those packages. And I would think if you were planning on getting anymore presents from overseas you would be safer once you had a new address. Even though that sucks, your address might be in a computer right now. I'd be nervous about a P.O. Box myself. If your nightmare came true and officers really were waiting on you to pick up your stash you might not notice them waiting for you if you had to make a pickup at a POB. Also there are ways foreign suppliers can get around customs easier but most don't do it and I'm not going to post how they do it.  | ||

Too darn paranoid, i agree with T Bone. damn man if you are that paranoid about this game, then by all means quit it! we want blame you! because we all know the cosequences thereof. damn just quit if it bothers you that much.You can't go through life that way! chill out! good luck! ------------------ |
