Ok the post about who is the smallest- I am a big guy- I hear small/slim guys complaining a lot about trying to gain and I have a hard time feeling sad- DEBATE- is it easier to be small and work up to a ripped and muscled body or is it easier to lose down and muscle up- I sure have had a hard time doing the slim down and muscle up thing- my father had the small trying to gain problem

Good question. I think it would be easier to go down from being big then muscle up. ------------------

Every guy will have a different experience with this topic depending on his or her personal genetics. For me it's simple to diet down if I put in an effort but much harder to get big. My thinking lies along those lines but I have a couple of friends who have a naturally slower metabolism and would argue with me on this point. My only reasoning behind it being harder is that these guys can get cut without the use of pharmiceuticals (using a diet and ECA......) while there is no way that I could get much bigger than I am without AS to aids. Like I said though, everyone is different.

The grass is always greener! I think it sucks for both! The truth is that it takes a lot of dedication for both body types to get there. LAter, Green

I think it is harder to start fat and lose down and then bulk up. When you are losing weight you are getting weaker or making zero strength gains and that is very hard on me mentally. I hate to diet for like 6 months and make no real progress strength wise while all of my friends put on more strength and muscle. Plus I feel like shit when I diet. It feels good to eat alot and bulk up. Especially when you are making progress. I would rather be naturally skinny than naturally fat. Later,

I have to agree with gaintset 100%. The mental factor of dieting is somthing the high metabolism guys can't ever begin to understand. Especially the times when you are with freinds in a social envirnment and you can't have a beer or eat real food. Although I have to say that the nice thing for us big guys, is that we can get lean in a very short periond of time even though it's extremelly stressfull. But smaller ripped guys can't put on a lot of size (naturally) in like 3 or 4 week period. So I guess they both have pros and cons. But I wish I had a super high metabolim. I would just hit test once and a while and I wouldn't really have to worry about diet and cardio. [This message has been edited by Buld0g (edited August 23, 2000).]

This question isn't complicated. Catabolism trumps anabolism every time. It's MUCH easier to lose weight than it is to gain it. MUCH, MUCH easier, for ANYBODY! No "slow metabolism, fast metabolism" BS about it. Bjaarki ------------------ BECOME SOMEONE'S HERO!

I agree with Bjaarki. It is definitely easier to lose weight (fat or muscle) than it is to put on quality mass. |
