What do you bros do when you want to shock your bigger muscle groups, such as back and chest, and put them to the next level of growth. What exercises and in what matter? Any experiences?

There are thousands of ways. Bottom line is that you need to do something completely different from what you're doind now. In other words, if you usually do high sets with low reps, reverse that and do low sets with high reps. YOu need to shock your muscles for growth. Growth is a response to change. My methods are simple. I always rotate my routines in such a way which allows me to train my weakest body part twice per week, on Mondays and Saturdays. If I can not gain growth that way, I will concentrate on what I call 'giant sets of 100's' for that muscle group. For example, last night I needed some tri help so I ran with the following: Tri extensions 10 sets of 10, overhead rope extensions 10 sets of 10, push downs 10 sets of 10. I did all these together, like a superset then followed in with reverse handed pull downs 10 x 10, single handed db overhead extensions 10 x 10 and close grip ez curls press 10 x 10. Also make sure you're getting enough food and rest. BPP

God damn papapump, just reading that routine made me feel overtrained. But, everyone reacts differently. When I feel like that, I just do a bunch of GIANT sets for the bodypart lagging. |
