In my right shoulder lately I have had a constant pain. I used to be able to use certain "supplements" that would get rid of the pain, but I dont have access to those pain remedys anymore. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Take it fro ma person that might be going under the knife shortly for that. Time off is the only med that you can use. Others only cover up or mask the pain. But time is the only thing that is going to heal it. I have been using Celebrex from the doc which has worked some.

I just started Celebrex and am in week 7 of physical therapy. The pain is subsiding but it's going SLOWLY. My only training is with the PT's watching me and the weights are super light. Time to heal is the main thing, I didn't touch a weight for 5 weeks. Seated rows with 60 pounds sounds like nothing but it's a bitch when you are on the road to recovery.

Ok Bro, I had a similar problem. Being a heavy benchpresser, I am always having to keep after my shoulders/rotator cuffs. I had an impingement about 3 months ago. Since then, I learned to keep up on my external rotation excercise(s). Additionally, the impingement was relieved by stretching. For the stretching, you will need a pole (like a closet hanger pole). Lay on your back, and grip the pole as if you were to do a benchpress..press the pole up, then rotate the arms towards the head, to the overhard press position. Do not bounce. Chances are you will not be able to touch the floor. Don't try. Just let the weight of the pole do the work. Do about 4 sets of these, a few times a day. Do the external rotations once a week. I do them on chest day when I am done. My right shoulder used to wake me up. If you want a more detailed description of my shoulder maintenance program, email me.. I will gladly help.

I have been hampered with shoulder problems for over a year now and I have found the magic recipe for recovery. # 1 First you have to back off on the amount of weight you use for shoulder and chest excercises. #4 Ever heard of trigger point therapy? Trust me this is possibly the greatest thing that I have discovered. I have been to two shoulder specialists and a physiotherapist for my shoulders. At one time i could not lift my arms above my head or put them behind my back without pain even on celebrex. The docs didn't do much for me and i wasn't making much progress until i discoverd trigger point therapy. Now i am back traing again,my shoulders have not felt this good in two years.

its true that when we bench, shoulder press and use the shoulder muscles to lift, the outer muscles become larger while the rotator cuff underneath doesn't compensate in the strenght increase becuz most people don't excercise it, if you problem is serious you may want to see a doc. if not and maybe you need to rehab your rotator cuff a product call the shoulder horn does a good job of allowing you to work this muscle to help it become stronger I believe you can find this product in some of the bobdybuilding mags.

Bro I think you should do some bvery light rotator cuff exercises and stay off all other shoulder work for a little while. Also I think pain medication is a bad idea because taking those to train will just make the injury worse. |
