A friend of mine HATES to inject. A doctor friend of his supplied him with a product called "lidocaine ointment". It is an external creme used to numb and area before injections. The ointment is made by "fougera", and contains Lidocaine base 5% in a water soluble base consisting of polyethylene glycol 300, and polyethylene glycol 1450. My friend loves it and says that it works. Anyone have experiences with this product???

I think it might be good for some people who are a little afraid. The only qualm that I have is that it would not be good if, lets say, you injected in a nerve and you don't feel it because of the cream. Normally you could just pull out the pin, hurt a little, then reinject into another spot. Since you can't feel it you may cause further damage by moving the pin around in that area and injecting, not to mention that you would probably move the pin around a lot more than you would if you could feel it which traumatizes the effected area and could lead to bruising, pain, and scar tissue. Just a couple things that your friend might want to keep in mind. ------------------

I don't mean to flame but come on! This is a big boys sport and pins shouldn't be such a big deal. Yeah it sucked the first few times but it's like everything else, if you do it enough it's no big deal at all. Hell once the pounds start to come I looked forward to injection day!!! LAter, Green
