I was wondering if anyone has experienced a bout of depression during a cycle and how you dealt with it. Is it some kind of sign to take a break and re-energize yourself mentally and/or physically?

DURING a cycle? No way. Depression always sets in after my cycle is over. Always.

Deca did it to me. Made me depressed as hell. I went on a cycle since I had broken up with a girl. I felt great the first month after we broke up so I started the cycle. I started with Deca only. I had to take all of my guns out of the house, I didn't think I would ever take myself out, but I had never been so depressed in my life. It didn't let up until I was off the Deca.

I'm not dissapointed in my gains, nor am I dry from my workout routines. It's just at times there is no explanation as to why or what brings it on. Just wanted to know if others have had this happen. I wouldn't know of anything to tell a therapist, so there isn't any reason seeing one. I know it will pass as it has before. But, it's good to know that I'm not the only one to experience it.

Although I've never been depressed, I'd think that trying new things/traveling somewhere new, etc., might bring you out. Take a break from weights, maybe do some rock-climbing, mountain biking, etc., to stay in shape but get you out of the same ld routine! Just a thought, good luck with it...

Rockman:

Gear is hormone, and few things in the human body are more likely to affect mood than hormone. (Just ask your Dad, if your Mom has been through menopause!)

From an NIH website:

"Scientific research also shows that aggression and other psychiatric side effects may result from abuse of anabolic steroids. Many users report feeling good about themselves while on anabolic steroids, but researchers report that extreme mood swings also can occur, including manic-like symptoms leading to violence. Depression often is seen when the drugs are stopped and may contribute to dependence on anabolic steroids. Researchers report also that users may suffer from paranoid jealousy, extreme irritability, delusions, and impaired judgment stemming from feelings of invincibility."

End of quote. Listen, bros, all "sides" are not physical, you know. Most medications (gear is just one kind of med) have psychiatric side effects, and depression/anxiety is probably the most common.

I was bummed out about a girl during my first cycle. I don't think gear made it any worse. It probably helped me out actually. Whenever I caught myself thinking about her I would go outside and run a few miles. At least I got a six pack out of the whole thing.
