A guy I know had an incoming order with a great overseas source. The gear has always been dropped in the box without a prob. The other day he got a slip in his box stating there is a parcel being held at the post office. It says it must be signed for in person.... It says its registered. Hes leaning towards letting it go cause its not worth the risk. Why would this one need to be signed for when all else has been cool and just dropped?? Feeling a bit too risky. It even has an article# attached to it. The package doenst have his real name on it. If he picks it up is he liable for it??

most people on here will probably tell you not to sign, however, if "they" are trying to catch you... they will! I would ask the source if they did anything different. If not procede at your own risk. Just remember, they are not just going to sit up there and when no one picks it up let the issue drop entirely. "Oh well missed another one!" YEA RIGHT! assume that the gathering of info has already begun and they will pick you up eventually. i just would hate to see a bro' lose good gear for no real reason. Signature.. No signature... either way if they want you, they will get you. hope i was of some help... this issue has been covered many times. Try a search. peace, ------------------

As long as the time between when your source actually sent out your order and the time your"sign"notice appears is not more than 3-4 weeks,I wouldn't worry about signing. It takes a while for any type of law enforcement officials to gather together a team,so if the time frame isn't too long, chances are you'll have no problem.Good luck.

Did his source send it by registered mail? He should check with his source. Also if he did not use his real name it may be hard to sign for it if they need ID.

How big was the order bro? if it was a small order then I seriously doubt whether they would spend any time to set him up.

Its a small order, about $100 worth so the charge could only be possession. His first package arrived last week and the other usualy 3-4 days later so its on time. But I dont get why its supposedly registered. My source says nothing was different. Ill prob let it go.

If I was giving advice, I would say not to sign, but if it was myself, I would sign.

They've been doing this alot lately, bro. A package is sent so it doesn't need a signiture, and they just go ahead and make it registered (I mean the post in one of the two countries). I think they're trying to improve their service on international mail, or something. I agree that if the time wasn't too long just go ahead and sign, and enjoy your gear. ------------------

Mokhtarsayed is correct. Even though your source didn't send it registered, the post office of that counrty has been attaching an article number to the package. Still don't know why that is. Bottom line, sign for it! Scroll down to my thread and read some of those responses. I'll let everyone know the good news later. (I hope lol)

Good news,my boy let me know he sent it from a diff place where mail must be registered, pretty mcuh, to get it out. So I picked it up no problem. So he sent it registered after all. Me no like surprises... peace

I was in the exact same situation, i refused to sign for a package when the postman came to deliver it. He told me i needed a signature despite the "signature conformation" was not checked...also, it was sent regular parcel mail. I shouldn't have had to sign but i called the post office and asked them to redeliever it...it came and i signed. no probs...if it was under 3 weeks from the time it was sent, i wouldn't worry about it. |
